5.5M for Grabo is hilarious. He's a solid player and gives it his all but 5.5M per is way too much. Makes the Callahan and Dubinsky deals look like steals.
Glad to see Burke take another step back with the Leafs.

How exactly does Grabo's contract make Dubi's a steal? Please expand.
The Oilers are a disaster. How Tambellini and Renney still have jobs is beyond me.
They made lateral moves at the deadline. Lateral moves for a team on pace for another 70 points or less.
Then they re-sign Hemsky....
The NHL can do a billion reality shows trying to make the Oilers into some hip, up-and-coming team on the rise. Sorry, but I was told at a young age that pouring syrup over a pile of **** doesnt make it pancakes.
16-31-4 since they won the October Cup.
It's so bad that someone accidentally used the flames official twitter account to bash that signing
That's fine. I hope he stays healthy and I hope he plays well. It will make it all the sweeter when we beat them.
Sure, but a healthy Crosby in that lineup has to make them odds on cup favorites. Granted you have to play the games...but that will be one tough team to beat.

At least Grabo produces for crying out loud. What is he worth then if Hemsky got 500k less and is never in the lineup?

Thought that was so funny, obviously an intern who forgot to change accounts on TweetDeck
Agreed, didn't get re-signing Hemsky almost as much as I didn't get the Blue Jackets re-signing Prospal. Sure I understand you think he's got a future management job with the team, but trade him for a draft pick or mid-level prospect and bring him back in July (see: Gaustad, Paul).

Absolutely.
I have all the faith in the world in Henrik Lundqvist.
He's going to be better than Thomas was last year. Just watch. Has Lundqvist actually given up a single "soft" goal all year? He's in such a zone. If he's healthy, this team CAN beat Pittsburgh, Crosby or no Crosby. It would be an epic series though for sure. Hopefully the Pens play Philly or Boston before we have to play them, so they're nice and worn down
No one as good as Crosby, who loves to play as much as Crosby, should miss as much time as he has. I wish him no ill and I hope he stays healthy. Wishing injuries on guys is bad karma.
That said, looks like Bruins fans are waving their white flags.
Crosby's return will be subdued. It wont be like last time.
But to be honest with you, I hope he never gets hurt again.
Not because I respect him. Not because I think he's "good" for the league. Not because he's a human being.
No.
I hope he never gets hurt because if this keeps up, it will be a drawn out sopa opera every friggin year. Every single hit will get treated like he stepped on a pressure plate. Any time he gets any kind of injury, people will think the Pens are hiding something.
Mario Lemieux handled his situation like a complete chump. The guy couldnt make his mind up, and every month there was some "rumor" out of Toronto or Montreal or Pitsburgh that Mario's retiring...Mario's dead....Mario's pregnant......Where's Mario?....
Please, Sid. For the sake of humanity.....Stay Healthy.
The free agent stinks. Worst free agent market since the early 2000's
Suter is the prize of the free agent class along with Parise
Lidstrom will stay with the Wings or retire
Wideman will get a decent buck for some team and they'll regret in the first month of the season
Stuart wants to play in California
Jackman will probably stay in St.Louis.
Oduya will get some decent offers
Carle will probably stay in Philly
Garrison is looking for retirement contract. He wants $4M-$4.5M per. Good luck
The rest of the D are old. Not very good. Bottom pair D.
Parise will get crazy money
Semin will either re-sign w/Caps,sign with the Wings or play in the KHL
Doan will re-sign in PHX if the team remains there
Whitney can still play but he's 40 years old
Horrible free agent class
What will TSN discuss on July 1? Probably the CBA.
Here we go again. We get it you dont like Rick Nash. But please dont compare when the Leafs traded for Phaneuf to the Rangers possibly acquiring Nash at this years deadline. The Leafs made that move when they were going nowhere, trying to revamp the roster. The Rangers wouldve been adding Nash (on their terms albeit) to a first place team that is on its way to a President's Trophy. I was meh about trading for Nash but I'm not gona sit here and make lame comparisons to Dion Phaneuf and what the Leafs have been doing
When did I ever go on my soapbox about not wanting Rick Nash? Sure I weighed in during the debate but I wasn't one of the top 50 most vocal (read: annoying) posters on here during the pre-deadline discussion. So step down our else I'm gonna go Stog-mode on you.

The few times you did post in that ridiculously unnecessary amount of threads about rick nash, you were pretty negative and hard on the guy. I wasn't high on him either but wasnt completely opposed to the idea. I just dont think there is any reason to compare Phaneuf to the Leafs and where that organization was at that point in time to the hypothetical Nash to Rangers and where this organization is right now.

For those of us that believe he's having an off year, it does. I should have clarified. Those of you who believe the other 3-4 years of Dubinsky's career were a complete aberration and this is his true potential, you are right, he is not on a steal of a deal.

Parise/Suter already blows away Richards, and 39 year old Jagr, and a whole slew of overpaid defensemen in 2011 in quality.
Two 27 year old studs, Nash on the market, and a whole lot of crap, and I still take 2012 over 2011 (of course, only if Parise/Suter make it to July 1st).
Philly and Boston. Do the Pens have games remaining against those teams?
They sure do. Boston over the weekend, which is when Pen fans think he'll be back. Maybe they'll just wait until they get to play the Isles again for his comebackv2 so we can all drool over how many points he puts up on an echl goalie.
