Half their remaining games are vs philly, boston, NJ, and us. that's 9 games against teams who will target crosby.
I really dont think I'm being a homer with what I'm about to say and that is the Rangers don't play like that. If Avery was here it might be a different story. The Rangers have fought more than anyone else in the league this year but they don't go around throwing cheap shots. If anything they are usually on the receiving end. Deveaux placed a cheap shot on someone this year and after that we never saw him play again. Granted Rupp was close to getting healthy, I still think that hit he made had him sent back down to the minors. I think Torts has no tolerance for BS like you see with other teams.

Definately. Torts has no tolerance for that BS. Sure, the guys will make sure to finish their checks on him, but they won't be looking for headshots. Philly and Boston on the other hand...

You don't see rangers players leaving their feet ala kovalchuk and clarkson last game. Kovy left his feet constantly. Or dirtbags like Marchand who don't like to get hit so they cheap shot players about to hit them and then call it self defense. Or Lucic face planting McDonagh into the glass with 2 seconds left in the game, and then proceeding to get to sucker punches in. Hey but it's all clean, it's all good.
In light of the Grabo signing, there is a thread on one of the main boards about how much PAP will make in free agency. People are guessing 5 or even 6 mil a year. The funniest part is, they might not be wrong with the incompetency across the league.
You've got to be kidding me? Minnesota gets another national game. THey picked Av's/Wild to broadcast over Detroit-Philly, Chi-St.L and NJ-NY.
They want to have a good presence in more places in the country than Detroit, Chicago, NY, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Washington, and Boston. That way, when the Conference Finals and 1st two games of the SCF roll around, people in places without a team in the hunt won't forget about them as quickly.

If pap gets 6 mil a year I do not know what I would do lol
nice job by the schedule makers...isles play 3 straight games against NJ. played them last game and now have a home and home coming up.
What happens with the Devils is they beat the Rangers and then get a combined 25 shots and 1 GF in the ho/ho with the Isles. Rangers fatigue - it's a real phenomenon.
"I used to pray for good things . I used to ask the Hockey Gods for puck luck for the NYR .
Now all I want is Torts the smug stupid goatee clown to be fired , . I hate Torts . Please hockey gods make him get fired. Please Sean punch him in face" -- Dorado
Wow, Bill Clement, talk about people who "shouldn't be in the business." Homer.
"Where is the whistle?" Uhhh on the ref's hand until the Flyers get control of the puck... like every other time a player is hurt with the exception of Zednik making the ice all red.
And coming from the Flyers organization, professional goons. You know Coates would be having a fit if the Wings got an early whistle.
Looked like a clean hit to me. Kept his elbow down, didn't leave his feet, didn't go out of his way to hit him. Voracek turned to look for the puck and when he turned back around Kronwall was stepping up and into him to make a play. Very similar to when Phaneuf hit Sauer
That's one of those iffy ones. He clearly hit Voracek in the head, but it didn't look like he targeted the head. Voracek put himself in a position to be destroyed. He turned up the ice with his head down and shoulders open. He basically presented himself up to be cracked in the jaw. Can't really fault Kronwall on this one, IMO.
Kronwall never attempts to play the puck. Old school thinking is he doesn't have to but I'm not sure thats how it should be played, too much potential for a serious injury.

Yeah, I'm with you. Kronwall basically just turned his body and let Voracek skate right into him. Never did anything to target the head, and if Voracek had kept his head up, he wouldn't have been hit there.
however, he could have hit him low in the chest and it would have been equally as devistating. I would hope that with all the awareness about concussions in the league players would operate with a little more discretion but that aparently wasn't the case here
