The Blues are playing some scary hockey right now, and without the star goalie, top defense or star forwards that we have.
They literally might be a bottom 5 team in the league in terms of talent.
I think you're underrating their talent level a tad, but I agree that they're playing over their heads, at least talent-wise. The most impressive thing about their situation is that they're playing so well right now with Steen out of the lineup, and I think he's one of their best players up front.
he had some sort of unspecified "personal issues" and I guess never really recovered. I don't think he officially retired but I don't think he's playing either.

Steen is a very under appreciated player. He's such a smart, cerebral player. One of my favorites, and he's one of those players that can be very effective on nearly every shift they play. He's their version of Callahan.

Perron and Oshie have been playing possessed lately. Let us not forget Halak and his miracle run in the playoffs. Elliot is just having a crazy season. It could be their D. Pietroangelo is showing exactly why they decided to trade E.Johnson. Shattenkirk is also making the E.Johnson trade look like a big win for them. They've gotten a lot of veteran contribution from Arnott and Langenbrunner too. I don't think they had good vet leadership in the past few seasons. While Steen is out, I find it more amazing that they are doing so well and getting very little out of Chris Stewart who was a balls to the wall power forward last year. He's really under performing for them.

Steen is underrated. Leafs were dumb to trade him.
The Devils are having a meet the team night over at the Rock tonight. My dad and little brother actually had the opportunity to go because one of my dad's friends is a season ticket holder.
I gave my dad a stick and asked him to get Parise to sign it. He said the line was to long for Zach. Didn't really have a second option because I can't stand the Devils. Kovy and Marty's line was also too long. Ended up telling him to get Larsson to sign it. Who would you guys have chosen?
Larsson's not a bad pick, but Elias is more of a sure bet if you'd be looking to sell the thing for as much as possible down the line.
Also asked about Elias. Said he couldn't find him. I actually would have preferred him over Kovy. I really only thought about Marty because, although I dislike him, the guys obviously one of the best ever.
Kevin Dineen looked like Torts when he was talking to Wolski on the bench. He was kind of agitated. He told him "straight ahead". Then patted on the back.
The BOS announcers are the biggest cry babies. Theyre still whining about the call on seguin. The call was weak but its been called before. And then they were calling for goaltender interference on alfredsson when he didnt even touch thomas

I agree. I'm watching the Boston feed. They're such homers.
I mean, don't get me wrong, most home announcers are, and are entitled to be, some more than others, but the NESN announcers are pretty bad.
