Just sign Suter in the off season please and end this CRAP of having 3 #2 D man, and 4 #5-6 D man
IMO, we have a handfull of second pairing guys and a possible top pairing d-men in Larsson. We don't have one single top pairing d-men and that's been the same song over the past 5+ years now.
Hey guys, just wondering if you could help a Wild fan out?
Over on our board there's a rumor going around that some time after Zid got over there in Jersey that he was interviewed and insulted the Wild? Basically calling them cry babies or something?
Does anyone recall this at all? And if it did happen is there any video for it?

Nothing like that was brought up on this board, at least. Lou always goes to bat for other GMs and teams in the league. As far as his own players are concerned, he'd never let insulting comments like that see the light of day.

no way. there's enough anti-zidites around here they would have harped on that nonstop since too.

calling shenanigans
Alright thanks guys. It started with a "I heard from someone that..." type of thing so we didn't really know what to think.
I'm almost positive, the last time a Devils defenseman scored a goal from down low was Urbom's goal when he came in from the point and faked the goalie out of position and then before that...Greene's goal in the POs in game 2.
Edit, now that I think about it, Urbom's 2 goals have been from down low, his Clarkaround against Boston and then his goal this year.
Larsson's two goals are kind of like that too. Both from near the top of the circle.

I'd say we have three middle pairings. Nobody is really capable of being a top pairing defenceman, except Larsson, who is still developing into one. Volch is a decent partner for a top pairing defenceman, and Zidlicky can be, or used to be. Greene is a solid #3, and Fayne is a good #4, as is Sal. Nobody really stands out, but we have decent depth, and there are no obvious weak links.
It's nice to see that Minnesota's really taken off since the Zidlicky trade...
Oh wait.
They shipped out half their defence in less than a week. Schultz, Zanon, and Zidlicky all gone. We all know that defencemen take a while to adjust, and that's some crazy turnover. I'd be shocked if they were better afterward.
Most of the time when he was screwing up defensively it didn't matter, because we were winning a lot of those games. I don't really remember losing many games directly due to his play, but I do remember giving up lots of goals due to his play. Luckily we came back, and won that game against Montreal.
I still couldn't get over the fact that he skated past the crease with a chance to take the puck after the breakaway Marty stopped in that Montreal game. Instead the rebound was there for Darche, or Plakanec or whoever it was.
All 3 goals he scored for us were game winners though. By game winner I don't mean OFFICIAL game winning goals. I mean without his goals we would have went to OT.
He scored the 1st goal against Winnipeg when we were down 1-0 before Elias made it 2-1. Take away Foster's goal, and nothing else that game goes to OT. He scored 2 in the 6-4 win over Philly where we let them start coming back. Take away his goals, and nothing else that's another OT game.
Now we don't have him though, so we don't have a chance to see which games we will win because of his goals.

I have to disagree - the games right before the all star break where we lost to Boston and Philly - Foster was on for almost every even strength goal against and most were caused by his inability to do anything in the defensive zone. He was awful and at one point right around there got benched for ******** the bed on 2 even strength goals in a row. And we won the game after he never saw the ice again.
