Not only is it a fresh start, but Lemaire clearly liked (and endorsed bring in) the player. hmmm I'll trust JL's hockey mind over Yeo's.
I believe Lou said exactly that also about Lemaire
Barr had a say as well Lou said, because he coached Zids in Minny, so to have Jacques opinion and then another both in good light about a player and then to have the player that defines Devils (Patty) as a friend of his.......kinda speaks for itself
Ponikarovsky was mediocre too this year with Carolina, and he's almost matched his point total here in less than half the game so far. I wouldn't go on what Zidlicky did this year in Minnesota. New team, new start. It worked for Poni, and hopefully it is for Marek too.
Minny is probably happy just to get him off their... him and his cap space.
NJ doesn't mind the cap hit too much, and he's fitting in . It's OK to be a win /win, i said it early on.
Now, I was patient with Zidlicky and was expecting results like this. Not much more, though.
However, don't forget he is going to screw up. That happens when you pinch... take the good w/ the bad. He's not a world-class player like Nieds that can make up for a bad pinch.
However, he is a good skater, quick enough... he should be able to minimize it.
Again, we're a better team now than we were before this trade. But a decent amount.
We won't know the final outcome of the trade before Minnesota makes that pick, and before Palmieri develops fully and turns into something. Could turn into a very good return for them, regardless of the crap we piled into the package.
And if Zid keeps this up, it's good for us too. Win-win, like Billy says.
Gimme the Bruins in the first round - not later. They're weak right now and without Rask to come in should Timmy blow a tire early in a game they could be prime for an upset.

they are only 3 pts ahead of Ottawa - why does everyone think all the teams in 1st are locks for the divisions?
Well, if one puts stock in the calculations performed on sportsclubstats, the Broons are our second most likely first round opponent at 25.9% second only to FLA at 27%.

Well...that would then move the Bruins into...seventh...how exactly are you seeing us playing them in the first round cause I think I just confused myself...
