that's a lot for a 35 year old, if he was 2 or 3 years younger maybe I would of been happier

Worst of all? No more "Palmieri, Clermont, & a 2nd" offers
With the deepness of this draft coming up, I really wanted to keep as many early picks as possible. That mid 2nd rounder loss is a stinker

Other than the 2nd rounder, what are they really giving up?
This doesn't seem like much to me. I was worried a defensive prospect or Tedenby might be involved.

Do the Devils have their 2nd this yr? wouldn't it make more sense to offer that. Wash might miss the playoffs.

Only things of value in the trade are Palmieri and the Washington second. Zidlicky is pretty good, I'm still fine with the trade.

We are a better team when he gets here, any way you look at it.

Its overpayment because we could have used NaPalm and the 2nd in other deals. If Zid would only come here then we should have been in the dirvers seat or hung up the phone
dont forget we also add 4mil and they save 4 mil

It's a seller's market, after what Gill got this doesn't really surprise me at all. The 2nd hurts, but beyond that I'm okay with it. I just hope he can bring some offense and play a better defensive game than Foster.

It wasn't too bad of a deal though. Let's face it, Palmieri was being showcased, you guys wanted foster gone. This team needed a jumpstart on D and central registry needed to be satisfied with the exchange. Prior trades could have been considered unbalanced as well.
It wasn't as bad as unbalanced as you think.

Well I'm convinced that Lou was looking far and wide for a defensemen and this is the best he could come up with picks and all.
And I doubt we forfeit our 1st this year now.

Why didn't we give up our own 2nd? We still have it, right?

Roster player: Foster
Pick (norm): 2nd
Facepalm? Big potential my ass.
Veilleux? DATW might be upset.
Conditional 2013? Conditions will not be met.
Quantity? Yes. Quality? Nope.
This is sellers` market. I just know he`s going to pick it up. We really didn`t give up THAT much. Foster + 4th would be unreal. Move on.

Never been an option IMO.
Acquire 4th line center and call it a deadline.

Elias, Sykora and Zidlicky are good friends. They went to Florida together with their families (and Zubrus & family) during all-star break

You can't expect to hose the other team in every trade.
