Pretty disappointing loss. I feel like we deserved better, but oh well, sometimes you just dont get the breaks you need. On to the Lightning...

A first period like that is not uncommon when you have two teams that don't know each other. Looked like a preseason game in first period. Once they started disliking each other the intensity picked up. Clarkie recognized this and started mixing it up towards the end of the 1st

I don't know if it was the emotional win last night or the heavy travel, but Vancouver looked very mortal tonight. Certainly not the juggernaut we saw last season.

That said, Schneider played outstanding and was the difference tonight. Props to him.

What a way to end a disappointing night.

In the end, we didn't pass the test. That's what the one thread called this game several days ago.

Time to go to the gym. And watch NYR Rewind on the step machine. When I see Mark Stall score in about an hour or two, I'll hit the ceiling.

I liked how the Devils played tonight. Our offense can go toe to toe with any team, we just need some help on defense, which im hoping will improve with the return of Larsson and the addition of Zidlicky.

Team needs to work on it's shooting. When goalies aren't giving rebounds you have to shoot it top shelf. The Devils were missing wide too many times.

Including the game tonight, it was 5 games in 7 nights (This is the 2nd back-to-back situation on this roadtrip), coming off a emotional/physically draining win in Detroit, plus the Canucks didn't land in NJ 'til like 3:00am as well because of a blizzard in Detroit.

Let's just say, this roadtrip has been the biggest grind.

Also Henrique impresses me more every game. I heard someone here compare him to Zajac, I think he is worlds better in the offensive department than Zajac.

Notice the Sedins did practically nothing tonight. That's the most important thing to take away. And yes, I know they were probably tired from this gauntlet of games. But big props to the Salvador-Volch pairing along with the Zubrus line. We're going to need this five to perform in the playoffs, so to frustrate and wear down the opposition's top lines.

I know they say anything's possible but I'd bet every dime I have that he's a Devil until at least the draft, so unless you want him then, he's off limits.

Cory really stole that game though, he's a vacuum, its incredible, I don't think I saw one rebound the entire game.

For all those that want Schneider, I would bet that the Canucks are hoping for another amnesty buyout this CBA to get rid of Luongo and then go with Schneider long term

In the end I think we definitely passed the test.We were the better team for most of the game, we just got unlucky and their goalie had a great game. This is now the best team in the league and we just barely lost to them.

Good Game! Lots of skating in this one. Schneider was certainly the difference.

Speaking of Schneider: for those who haven't seen him much before, wouldn't he look good in a New Jersey uniform as Brodeur 2.0? The asking price would be high I'm afraid, but I assure you he's worth it.

Hockey isn't football. The whole "test" thing is kind of nonsense. We wouldn't have played one game against the Canucks in a series. And that game wasn't even one of them.

At the end of the day, you focus on getting into the playoffs where anything can happen.

And das'it.

I think so too, he's got incredible hands and he's much faster. Zajac is probably better along the boards, but I don't think Henrique is a slouch there.

Well, Luongo has had a real good year this year also, I am sure he has more then enough value to get traded, especially to a team who has ton of cap space.

Cory schneider will probably get traded, which will be a bitter sweet moment considering we will get something significant for him.

Since I was at this game and not waiting for it to end to troll and lie about my personal life, can anyone tell me if that second goal on Marty was clean? That was the difference.

The loss sucks but this effort on most nights would result in something better.

Oh wait we lost so no matter what I have to be negative.

Good game Canucks.

Parise also played his god damn dick off.

I would do terrible, terrible things to get rid of Luongo.

No sensible, rational person would keep Lu and his albatross of a contract over Cory.

Raymond's wrist shot glanced off Greene's heel.
