its making excuses.... maybe we get a couple extra D-man goals if Kovy doesn't run our whole PP on the point.

Wouldn't make that much of a difference though. Maybe Tallinder or Green gets an extra goal.

The funny thing is that lack of production is the only thing blocking us from winning a cup. Look at Vancouver and how they created their first goal. It didn't take hard work, they passed it to the point which led to a hard shot onto net which led to a rebound that was easily put in.

All of the Devils goals are complete skill by the offense with no help by the defense at all. I can't count the amount of times Kovalchuk would draw 2 guys and make an amazing pass to a wide open D-man that would either shoot the puck wide or hit a body in front. It's pretty pathetic that our best D-man at scoring is Mark Fayne, who scores only on complete luck with bouncing pucks.

Just think about how many more points Kovalchuk would have with a solid offensive D-man, better yet the amount of goals this team would score with an offensive D-man. Hopefully we can get that from Zidlicky but I'd also want 1 more guy to do so since Andy Greene has somehow forgot what offense is.

The lack of offense on the blue line is why this team is not an elite contender but a tier below. Look at the other top teams' respective blueline and then look at ours. It's a pretty sobering comparison.

There really is no other team in the league that has such a big disparity in talent between offense and defense.

Our two most inexperienced defenseman have 58% of our goals, so surprise we traded for Zidlicky. Fayne gets his shots on net, so good things happen for him. Maybe in a few seasons he can jump up more(same with Larsson), but it's more important for him to focus on solid play right now.

No idea why, but I find it pretty funny to picture Fayne as a gangsta off the ice. Like he refers to himself in the 3rd person and refers to his girlfriends as his bottom *****es.
