I realize that. Since Ovechkin is clearly a "repeat offender", it's possible he gets a suspension or some sort of punishment since that's the exact type of thing that the NHL is trying to stop.
Not... really. It's illegal contact, but it doesn't warrant supplementary discipline unless it's excessive (like any normal hit). It's basically interference. Ovi can interfere with a guy and not get a call from Shanny, even if he gets 2.
But he managed to talk his way out of even a penalty so kudos to him.
