Beautiful backhand pass by Ovi, would of prefered MoJo to keep his feet moving, once he does that reverse turn back, they are going to crowd Ovechkin.

Semin and Sarge have been our most improved players since Dale Hunter came around. The hate for Semin has been completely overblown recently.

Also, never thought I'd type these words, but liking Aucoin on the top line. His speed and aggressiveness seems to open things up for Ovie and MoJo.

I also like Ovi's energy so far. Even if he's not scoring he's gotta be flying around throwing hits and trying to get to the net to set the pace for the team.
Yeah the announcer's replaying that Alzner on Kessel defense "Nice job of Alzner keeping Kessel to the outside.".

Also mentioned that Ovi feasts on the Maple Leafs goals/points wise over his history of playing vs them.

Mojo looked like a Power forward on that move.

Nice clearing of the puck by Jeff Schultz from that scrum in front of Neuvirth.

Scratch that. You know, Backstrom and Green (or either or healthy and in shape) and we're not having this trouble. I've said that a few times.

Those two are game changers, and they mask a lot of the Caps problems.

Jay Beagle add nothing to this team. An upgrade is needed there.

Yep Chimaera. We were a team that won largely by great individual plays. And it works until injuries hit, as they did every playoffs the past 3 years. We are slowly learning how to play as a team but need our stars.

He's competent in the cycle, can hit, can take faceoffs, and can(/could) occasionally fight. Not going to get much more for league minimum and they can't afford to spend a ton on that roster spot usually.

40 minutes to go. Hopefully the Caps keep this up and get a killer instinct to put this game away and not sit back.

He hasn't been the same since the Asham debacle. He's far more relunctant to mix it up but I do appreciate his work in the cycle game.

While I agree, I'd prefer that roster spot to be solidly the 13th/14th forward slot.

Our defense is too slow for that anymore.

Oh, I agree wholeheartedly. And if Backstrom is healthy it can be. (Well, when Knuble's not in the doghouse or waiting to be traded or whatever is going on there).

I think you have to look at any team in the league (sans-Pittsburgh i guess) and wonder what happens to them with two of their best players out for consistent time.

Obviously, the Caps have flaws, though with the salary cap it's hard not to have them. But they both allow everyone to move down a slot or two and have less pressure. You can't replace that kinda talent easily.

If they win tonight, it might get awful interesting. I think McPhee was leaning towards just standing pat or small move in (with the rubbish out) but if they're looking good after tonight, they might buy.

Is it me or is Ovechkin a turnover machine when he's carrying the puck in the offensive zone?
