I remember with the habs last season Auld looked terrible early on and played solidly in the later starts I saw of his. Let's hope that applies to this season too.

Either way, I'm psyched for the game, hoping for hard fought win (or a really easy win, actually). The bruins are a great team but they get on my nerves.

I think Carkner should play because:

a) It's a big game close to the trade deadline, and Murray needs to see if Carkner can raise his play. Should Murray acquire a #6/#7 to play ahead of Carkner, or trade Carkner and acquire TWO defensemen?

b) The Bruins are the toughest team in the league, and it's important for Ottawa's psychology to have a guy like Carkner in the lineup.

Nope.

I'm gonna try to avoid seeing the results of tonight's game and hopefully catch it on the CBC.ca archives. It'll be like watching it live but with the ability to skip commercials.

Lee at his worst > Carkner at his best.

What a huge game tonight. What an opportunity for the kardiac Kids.

Top teams at this time of year dont have the same motivation level to go for it as teams fighting for a playoff spot, which is why we often notice those teams in the bottom of the standings doing well at the end of the year, thinking they have turned the corner, only to fall back again the next year.

So Boston has to decide if they are worried enough about us as a threat to give 110% tonight. They are beatable and slumping.

Pretty hard to believe there are that many Sens fans that dont get Carkners role. Lee and Carkner are rotatable bottom liners that have defined roles. Tonight is when when you have Carkners role, you go whew and put him in.

Now i know that there are some troll bots here that spam gdt's with repetitive Carkner sucks posts every time his name is mentioned, and now it seems they actually believe the biased nonsense they have tried to spew about him, but Carkner is not of course as bad as they are trying to make it. And you better believe Lucic is thinking about facing him.

And if Carkner can get sent off for 5 mins with Lucic, all you fans that dont understand the role of intimidation in professional sports can surely see that as good. Especially this year after the Lucic Miller debacle, some sort of inkling on the issue you;d figure might be learned.

Come on Sens, this is a statement. Even if we lose, you have to play them hard and take control. Time to begin the final march of the Sens towards the playoffs.

Some tough games coming up, pressure is on.

Go Sens Go

Carkner blows. I'd rather have Lee in: he won't fight with Lucic but he'll do everything else Carkner does better.
He's better defensively and doesn't make stupid pinches.

Carkner blows.

Anybody know if the CBC stream works outside of Canada? I'm in Australia ATM...

It's sad that the CBC is showing the Caps and Leafs as the national game. The maritimes and Quebec and BC should get to watch the Bruins and Sens.

Or, they could just have the early and late game nationally televised, no split telecasts, and every team would get to be on every second week.

Being in BC I honestly can't remember if I've ever seen a Senators game on Saturday CBC that wasn't against the Leafs.

The whole country would rather watch Ottawa beat the Bruins for the lead in the northeast but Toronto rules all. CBC will never change.

And I can't believe 90% of the posts in this thread are about Lee vs Carkner. Let's face it, the real question mark tonight will be one Alex Auld. It won't matter if we have Bobby Orr back there if our goalie under-performs. I'm a little scared with Andy out. Hopefully he only misses a few weeks and we hold on for the playoffs while he's out.

I do think the Leafs game will be comical the caps will win with ease and the Leafs melt down will be on national tv.

There are far more Leafs fans than Sens fans. I'd say that assumption is wrong.

If you ask most fans around the country what they want to watch the Leafs vs Caps or a battle for the norteast most would say Ottawa-Boston.

These Leaf haters will tune in and watch anyways, Toronto will always be televised nationally and that will never change.

I wasn't talking about Leafs vs Sens fans in terms of numbers. I meant that fans of other teams would probably prefer to watch our game than a battle for 9th with two slumping teams in the mix.
