if the other pieces were basically nash for bernier and brown, then howson shoulda done it... i'd imagine penner and either mason/sanford would be in too...
Pretty sure Columbus didn't want Bernier. Can't blame them, he seems a bit overhyped + adding a goaltending prospect in a messy situation is only going to make it worse.
They'll probably stick with Mason and Sanford till they're rebuilding or draft guys like Subban and Vasilevski (butchered it, I know) and those guys will develop by the time Columbus is better.
I proposed a Nash+Carter trade to LA. It was the most logical thing IMO. I think LA was either just lacking the draft picks or not willing to part with Forbort or Toffoli
Well, it is obvious that Nash was our first target, but popular opinion seems to indicate that he won't waive for LA, so it doesn't matter. We got Carter and I think we are moving onto other options. Would have been nice to have both, but it just doesn't seem like moving Nash to the west coast is viable.

I like Carter, I think he is a helluva player. I hope he is great in LA.

I don't really get it. Alot(most?) players tend to say that they like to leave hockey to hockey and do other stuff in their spare-time. What could be better than Los Angeles to do so? You got the Kings that, if they get their **** together, are close to becoming a great hockey team. And you go Los Angeles where you can do basicly everything you could think of. Also, it's warm and nice weather almost all the time!
I don't know if I'd want Nash. He gets alot of money and I'm not sure he's worth the cap hit or what it would take to bring him to LA.
I bet Columbus is waiting for the draft to see if they can get Schneider. There's no point in doing a big trade involving Nash for Bernier if they can get Schneider in a different trade. (they wouldn't want both goalies). Who knows though? I wouldn't trust Howson managing my team. Hell, I wouldn't trust him on NHL 12.
