Congratulations on getting another paycheck in this economy, Brian. I'm sure everybody in this thread would love an extra $5 million, especially if it means going through the motions and blaming your poor performance on age!
I have no problem with that but I thought Reese was still down with injury???

Capuano says Reese not quite ready yet and he will not make the eight day four game road trip when the team leaves for Ottawa today. #isles
I think Rolston might have asked for the waivers; I suspect the Devils will pick him up down the line for depth (maybe with ten games left in the season).
There is obviously one more shoe to drop and that is either Okposo or Parenteau. Trading Okposo for a d-man opens up the salary slot for P.A. to be signed. Trading Paranteau will likely not bring bask as much due to the FA status.
What's great about this move is that The Isles are:
1) Rewarding production at Bridgeport
2) Belief that Ullstrom and Cizikas are ready for the NHL
3) A signal to Reasoner and Pandolfo to pick up their game

IMO, best case scenario.
Of course if it doesn't happen we all blame you for filling us with great expectations.
With Ullstrom coming up and if we can get rid of Pandolfo and Reasoner we can have Nielsen centering Ullstrom and Nino and finally see some action. I really want to see Ullstrom and Nino on wing together
The poor guys talents have whitered away in that 4th line with those scrubs.
Happy as anyone that he was waived. Only complaint is why not sooner.
I dont for a second believe this was a "hockey" move. It was a saving money move. Wang held him as long as he had to and now that they dont need his salary anymore they are trying to dump him.
I gotta believe that this was the plan all along which is why even though he sucked night in and night out they kept giving him time on the PP. Trying to pad his stats and move him at the deadline.
PAP is NOT going to be traded unless we get like a first from Columbus or something real overpaid. PAP isn't a spoiled kid...He knows how fricken hard it was to make it to this level and he seems like a pretty loyal guy and will even take a salary hit just to stay with the team. He is much more appreciative compared to other players.
Eaton won't be next because we just don't have enough depth to take us through if we plan to the playoffs, if we make it.
We "could" trade Kyle, but how much is he worth? He is young, he has size and I would say projected 2011/2012 points will be in the region of 40-45 points..MAYBE. I think more like 38, which to me is top of the line 3 liner. Soooo..that would give us a serviceable bottom 6 dman in return? It's really not worth trading him..maybe in a package? Maybe to save and trade up in the deep draft coming up? I would gladly overpay for a shot at Yakuov. We need a scoring winger with bite and he would compliment Tavares..possibly even make him better instead of riding on his coattails.

At the end of the day, this is a business and this likely PAP's last chance to cash in during his career. I hope we sign him before the deadline, but if we can't, Garth has to consider moving him while his value is high. We haven't exactly been very good at outbidding teams for a player's service during the summer months.

The what?! Bartender, my friend here needs to close his tab and get cab.

5 on 5 Pandolfo is trash. But he's been a pretty solid PKer all year. He has value to this team. Sure the team could use an upgrade there, but I see no reason to waive him. As for Reasoner, yeah get him outta here. he's awful.
Don't worry, there's still plenty of things to rant about. Shall we begin with Okposo's and Grabner's play as of late? I've taken to calling that line "The Candy-Ass Line"
I call fans that go only on stats clueless. 2nd line has been our most consistent over the last fee games. But its pointless to bring up arguments anyhows. If grabs and ko score a bunch of empty netters everyone will be happy!
61 games too late. Maybe Nino can actually get some minutes now.
I personally never got why the Islanders don't try out Nino on Bailey's wing. it's not like either guy(or their line in general) are generating tons of offense and we can't break them up
