Pahlson is a center with face offs skills. From what I understand, Boyce is a wing. Don't see how replaces Pahlson.

Boyce is a natural center, he's just been playing the wing for us recently

He is listed as LW/C... "defensive and can contribute on face-offs and the penalty kill."

Besides, Pahlsson is CBJ history after this season.

Boyce is a Center http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/p....php?pid=62217

And Pahlsson is definitely gone eventually. Pahlsson leaves for a 3rd rounder or so is my prediction and this moves helps make that a possibility

This. You guys will really like him. It pisses me off because I wanted about 4 other guys gone before him.

He will be a great 3rd/4th liner for you.

I am still pissed.....

Well, ok if he can handle face offs. Because someone is going to have to do that.

You guys will love him. May not be skilled, but can do a bit of everything and has a huge heart and will never back down. Perfect 4th liner, but he may do more in Columbus with more playing time.

After the 5th leafs fan stopped by to say the exact same thing, I realize I'm good with this. I would take a whole team of Dorsetts over a whole team of Vermettes any day of the week. As long as we have the toughness and mental fortitude in place, then if we add skill on top of that we'll be fine.

I don't know if it's still the case, but HockeyDB.com used to have very small intentional inaccuracies to prevent people from stealing the source material. The idea was that you'd have to email the owner (Ralph Slate) to request permission to use certain types of information, but it was usually an immediate approval.

I think that Mark Lamb is still listed as a defenseman, which he never was. Obviously that's a very small example, but I prefer to use the site as guideline instead of absolute.

Don't know much about him, but I'll take from the Leaf's posters here that he is a standup character guy. I think Pahlsson was gone no matter what, and this doesn't really affect that, but I am willing to bet that Boyce is the replacement for DMac. I'll be sorry to see DMac go if that is the case.

I think it's funny that he's wearing the number of the other ex-PEier.

Whatever happened to David Ling?

He's from PEI. We're doomed.

Sounds like our #4 center after MacKenzie moves up to replace Pahlsson.

Thanks, Howson, for cleaning up MacLean's toxic waste. Welcome, Kekalainen; let's get good things built!

A team full of Jared Bolls would be in the same place in the standings at this current bunch.

As would I. The fact that Dorsett had more goals than Vermette this year may have something to do with that.

The team is rebuilding from the guts out. Defense, the bottom 6 forwards.

A goaltender to come via some route and draft picks and FAs to start building a top 6.

Didn't think much of this claim at first but with all the Leaf fans here crying over losing him, let's give him a shot! As far as our so called rebuilding or reshaping or whatever Howson wants to call it, until he loses his man crush for Mason and ships his ass outa here, it won't matter what skaters are on the ice. If you have a sieve for a net minder, you ain't gonna win!!

Sounds like a typical grinder... character guy, heart and soul, tough which is all great. But don't read too much into this move, he is a UFA. He will be around for 20 games to fill in as Howson dumps more players. He won't be playing for the CBJ next year. By the way, waive Mason! And who in the heck is going to coach this mess?

Kiss my ass, Robert! LOL If we had a team full of Jared Boll's we wouldn't be discussing anyone's lack of heart. So there..

Anyway, back to OT...

The new guy is tweeting that he's glad to be headed here.

I hope this is an addition and not, ultimately, a swap for Mackenzie.
