Between him and Cam it's stupid that Boulton is the one to go.

I think Cam is great for the locker room. Granted, it sounded like they both got along and joked with each other. So hopefully this doesn't ruin any atmosphere in the locker room.

I'm finding it hard to find an enforcer who isn't great for a locker room.

I don't understand this. Boulton is a better skater and fighter than Janssen. Love Cam but he should be the one going, not Boults

I feel bad that Boults has to get waived, as I know he brings more to the game than he showed in this season so far, and had tough luck with breaking his fist on a guys face early in the season..missing some time to make more of a impact.

That being said, on this NJD team which is now looking pretty deep on offense (ie, Zajac is still out, and you have Josefson on the 4th line, and Carter is back) the writing on the wall for both him and Cam.

If I had a personal choice in the matter, I would keep Eric Boulton over Cam, because his hockey skills are far superior, but as lame as it sounds, Lou and/or the lockeroom must see something in Cam that goes way beyond his lack of actual hockey skills on the ice plus he's on a two-way contract. They know better.

Doesn't mean he's off the team, technically... but it looks like Cam won over the tough guy job.

Signed for more money on a 1 way contact + an extra year.

Well you're in luck. Via TG: Boulton said he was told he would remain on NHL roster if he clears waivers. He hopes to stay on team for rest of season.

I could see one of them playing in the playoffs if the Devils get matched up against Philly, Boston, or New York.

Remember, in 2006, Janssen was able to get into the line-up in the playoffs over Viktor Kozlov, who is more "skilled."

Only thing I'm not crazy about at all is his $3.4m cap hit

Gaustad and Stoll both have FO% above 55% - Poni/Stoll or Gaustad/Zubrus would be a helluva line
http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/sh...&postcount=931

The difference is 216k on that contract for the remainder of the season. Not scared.

Ok, Lou just looks to get him a roster spot on another team.

Uncle Lou wants to get Marty one or two before #30 goes in the rafters.

Either way it does not really matter who stays, They do the same job and if boulton clears he stays anyway.

All you do is fight while playing 40 games a season and you're a Richard so all your teammates hate you too? Aver...ah, he doesn't fight.

Mine too. No one can score an empty net goal like he can

If Boult gets claimed, good for him and he might get a chance to play. Cam probably would not get claimed, no need for him in ALB and he knows he's going to sit most nights and is ok with it. Perhaps, more of a favor to EB and another roster spot opens up for Englebert Humperdink or Jarret Stoll.

Boulton just isn't the same player he was in Atlanta. I love the guy but I think it's time he hangs em up.

Probably just trying to get him some playing time, unless both Carter and zajac are done for the year, I think we have enough depth.

i don't see this as a pre cursor to a trade more than there being no room for boulton, and he will end up in albany nobody will claim him.

janssen cannot be on the fourth line for playoffs, he makes the 4th line a liability, i think you will see bernier/josefphson and carter as our 4th line

with zajac centering poni and zubrus imo, they can always call up mills for right wing on 4th line as well if needed

we could use a rugged rt winger for the 4th line though. carter/josephson/ poor mans' clarkson

Lou's already said he's not sending Boulton to Albany if he doesn't get claimed.

My apologies, I've been out of the loop. But this only reaffirms my belief that we have enough forwards.
