A third AND an AHLer? That's already a good return. Didn't even think WW would fetch a fifth.

Good work, Glennie. The minor league player is irrelevant; just getting a third is a good deal.

This Vernace guy is a career minor leaguer. The 3rd is a nice piece. Very happy with the deal though

Here's Vernace: http://theahl.com/stats/player.php?id=1641

Must explain Blake Parlett being sent down to Greenville.

Parlett was sent to the ECHL earlier today freeing up space for Vernace

Guess that explains why Parlett was sent down to the ECHL this morning when the whale has a game tonight.

Seems like a good deal for everyone involved.

I was hoping for a 2nd but expecting a 3rd. Regardless, I'll take it.

Vernace sucks! Guy was on Tampa Bay last season. He can be used sparingly, like emergency call-up useful, but I guess if he helps the Whale -- not bad.

Good job Sather!

Vernace has played 22 NHL games, and only had an assist. Definately a move to help the Whale.

Edit: is he better than Parlett though?

They need a D-man to replace Erixon.

Break out the bubbly, he's gone and I no longer have to read the silly justifications as to why he should be in the lineup.

The fact that we got any sort of return for him is the icing on the cake, I really thought he would be waived.

But then Parlett wouldn't have been sent down.

As I posted on the main board:

I honestly wish Wolski luck. He NEVER ****ing pouted here. NEVER. Never did the guy ***** and moan about not getting playing time. The only things I have ever heard was that he was a great teammate. I really respect the guy for this. I hope he turns his game around in Florida.

We dont make the playoffs last season without his game-tying goal in Carolina that we won in a SO and his shootout prowess.

Guy was worth it. Plus it allowed us to get rid of Rosie and his cap hit.

Best of Luck

Agreed. Hope that for his sake he can make an impact down there.
