Excellent decision, I sure hope OKC has a nice long playoff run.

finally.

he needs to become a more dominant player, which im sure he could do in OKC, would be cool if the 3 swedes dominated the playoffs in the AHL.

good indication of their intentions with Gagner. i agree on the Paajarvi paper shuffle too. he's made it clear that he would not be upset about playing a Calder run instead of the WC.

Hope they "send" Paajarvi down after the game too. A simple paper transaction will work just as well.
i thought paajarvi was already eligible for the playoffs in OKC due him playing down there earlier in the year?

I kind of thought this as well. Spector said on his show that when he asked Magnus if he'd prefer to play in the WC or the AHL playoffs, he said he was always honoured to play for his country, but if would be better for his development to go to OKC(right answer btw). Why bother even asking that, if he isn't eligible already?

But then I know squat about AHL playoff eligibility rules. Can anyone clear this up?

Check put the ahl playoff thread that was posted last week or something. There was a link about a couple guys that played all year in the ahl but couldn't play because they missed the cutoff

Thanks.

OK so according to this article here

AHL rules state a player on an NHL roster at the trade deadline is not eligible for inclusion on a Calder Cup playoff roster
Pretty cut and dry. So it looks like a paper demotion would be needed.

Not that it's a big deal, but there is no more paper demotions from what i gather.

I wasn't aware of AHL rules for this so I had to google what you meant. For those of you on this board who like me are not fully informed, this is what he is referring to:

http://theahl.com/2011-clear-day-lis...ounced-p169897

(example from last year)

Thanks for clarifying, and I totally agree that it makes sense to send Paajarvi down on paper for this exact reason.

EDIT: oops, maybe I should read the rest of the thread before posting. Looks like 10 people explained this before me.

4 months too late but whats the saying better late then never. He should have been playing 20 minutes, pk, pp time in AHL not 6 minutes with goons in the NHL

Should have been from the beginning of the season but hey, better late than never. Let's see what he can do with big minutes.

You know... sometimes I forget that Petrell is even playing. With Lander... I always noticed him.

Lander isn't a 4th liner. He was used in that position for us because Renney loves Horcoff and Belanger too much. He held his own in his time here, so I have no doubts he can be effective in the AHL.

Lander was scouted as a defensive player, a 4th liner.

Lander probably doesn't lead a team to a cup, but he damn well helps. See Peca, Mike or Stoll Jarrett who grinding their way to the cup final.

Lander should have started in OKC this year in the first place. 5 months too late. :/

so you think Belanger and Horcoff will be 2/3 of our 4th line if Lander was still up ?

He has played more that 10 minutes once in his last 12 games. Those are 4th line minutes.
