If I were coaching:

Moulson - Tavares - Pappeneau

Ullstrom - Bailey - Niederreiter

Grabner - Nielsen - Okposo

Pandolfo - Cizikas - Martin

... I would at least try it. I just think that Cizikas and Martin on the same line is a natural match. that 3rd line 4th line crap doesn't mean much.

I don't know. I've given up on Justin Papineau. I think we need a legit 1st line forward if we trade Parenteau.

When Bails gets back Cizikas goes down to the Port and Reasoner centers Pandalfo and Nino.
The rest is right.
It will be a pleasure NOT seeing Rolston on the 2nd unit PP. That will be the big change.
2nd unit probably Bails/KO/Grabs up front.

Grabs/Franz/Kyle haven't clicked all year, time to mix it up

I'd go:

Moulson-Tavares-Parenteau
Ullstrom-Nielsen-Okposo
Grabner-Cizikas-Martin
Niedereitter-Reasoner-Pandolfo

Seperate Grabner and Nielsen and surround them with physical players.

Maybe if Capuano was promised an unlimited supply of garlic parmesan chicken wings and zeppoles for switching up the lines he'd consider.

Looks like Garth has more negotiating to do.

1. What is the fundamental difference betweem 2nd and 3rd line?
2. Cant we throw nino in the mix once we lose any hope of the playoffs? Then he can play without pressure...

Cant see cappy giving grabs any extra time. I think he would rather let ullstrom or someone else have a crack at it.

I can see problems if we go to the pk but it would be good to try.

With the Islanders, it's the first line, then the rest of the lines. Or more accurately. it's John Tavares, then everyone else.

All well and good, interested in seeing how they line up as well. However, I am more concerned as to whether or not we have turned the corner and will scratch reasoner or rotate one of the younger guys ullstrom/casey or someone else. Now that rolston is gone, I wouldn't mind never seeing reasoner (and maybe pandolfo) again. Let the kids play.

If I were coach and in the mood to do a real over haul, I'd go with something like this:

Nielsen - Tavares - Okposo
Moulson - Bailey - Grabner
Martin - Cizikas - Parenteau
Niederreiter - Ullstrom - Pandolfo

I am more and more thinking the Mitchy is right, and Nielsen would be better at wing. And I actually think he'd fit well on Tavares' LW. He's a lefty shot, and can help get the puck in the zone with control, and then to Tavares. Sames goes for Okposo as a righty on the other side. They're also probably our two best wingers who can play in a top 6 at retrieving the puck. With Cizikas up and Bailey healthy, moving Frans to the wing is something we have the C depth to try.

Bailey with Moulson is something I've wanted to see since Bailey upped his game earlier in the season. Matty's our best finisher, and Bailey badly needs a real finisher on his line. Also, I just think we badly need to spread out scoring to a more balanced attack. Grabner provides some speed to the line, and since he can't score on the rush to save his life anymore, I think he would probably benefit from playing with cyclers like Bailey and Moulson.

Third line is super hard working, and would be a threat to score if the opposing team is caught napping.

Parenteau needs to be seeing the second most TOI after the golden child. Sticking him on the third line would only be making our inept offense even more so, IMO. I do like the idea of seeing what Frans could do on the wing or putting Bailey back on the wing.
