If I was GM I'd just salivate at the chance to have two wingers in the top 7 highest paid players in the league and have neither of them wear a letter.
Talk about spending where it matters.
I think that's a bit unfair. Nash is the captain of his team, his lack of a letter with the Rangers wouldn't be a result of not being a leader, just as it is not the reason Gaborik doesn't wear a letter.
The fact these guys don't wear (or wouldn't wear) letters on this team owes more to the outstanding character of some of the guys we have in place.

Just ignore his, quite honestly, stupid reasoning. I can see ther reasons for not adding Nash but because he wouldnt wear a letter is stupid
NO....he doesn't have to be traded. He is signed for another 8 years. It may be in the best interest of both parties to trade him....but he doesn't have to be traded. Thats why Columbus holds the upper hand here.

Nash is the only option at the party right now. If Columbus waits until the offseason that's not the case. If the Rangers land someone else, they're suddenly nowhere with Nash and in an ugly situation.
St louis is scoring less than us and has 0 marquee players. Highest cap hit on their team is 4.7 million. I don't see anyone screaming how they NEED Rick Nash.

the title is kind of misleading to be honest. It implies that we actually have some sort of progress on this "trade" but as far as i know its still all speculatiing BS
MSG the place to be has a well established irrational hatred of Gaborik, it only makes sense his irrationality would extend to other facets of the game as well

It's such a boneheaded argument too ...comparing apples and oranges. I don't want Nash either, but there are plenty of other better reasons than "he doesn't wear a letter." smh

And St. Louis is most likely not a real cup contender.
You're assuming Erixon is being held out due to an actual injury. Maybe the hit was a coincidence and he's being held out for trade reasons? Obviously I didn't see the hit, so who knows.
Hope Erixon is ok, and I would really hope we can keep him.
