I was totally against the guy this off-season, but man has he turned it around. One of those rare cases where I guy has such good chemistry on a team that even though his previous numbers said otherwise, he surprised.
BTW, DW quoted in article above that he does not plan to do anything until after the end of the season (which would include any playoff performance).
He's currently earning $750k, so I can't see too much variation from that $$ if extension is signed.
And as he is the kind of player that can really get banged up, I don't expect more than an one year deal. (Especially if the organization thinks they have a "kid" in the depth chart who can fill the same role.)
I'm happy to see that I was totally wrong when I thought it would be a mistake to sign him in the preseason. I'd like to see him stick around for a couple more years. More of a team player than Eager. Staubitz, and more talented than Shelley.
