I feel like Boyle somehow goes under the radar for being one of the more fierce competitors the sharks franchise has ever had. His playoff numbers are insane and for all the talk about 'lack of heart' he certainly has it in spades.

If the team finally does win a cup and he gets a retirement contract (big IF, obviously), do you see the sharks honoring his number?

Also I guess this will serve as a general appreciation thread, because early in the year he was getting **** on while playing injured

My only problem with Boyle is how awful his luck is around his own net. It's like he's cursed by the hockey gods or something.

I love Boyle, some people claim he's overrated but I don't hear enough praise for him.

Generally, fans get down on him if he's having an off few weeks (like at the start of the season) but generally every player on this team has gone through that phase, once he gets going he's one of the few that really has the passion and heart.

He is one of the greatest Defenceman the Sharks have ever had, however I don't see his number being retired unless they win a cup and he retires here.

As for being 35 years old, He's still awesome.. I hope he asks Lidstrom for some advice on how to play when he's closer to 40

I think he is one of our best players, I hope he plays his entire remainder of his career here. He was one of the best defenseman in last years playoffs. If he ages just reduce his minutes slightly and extend him long term, do the 2-3 year deals.

If we win a cup this year or next, I could see Boyle, Thornton and Marleau all being honored.

Boyle plays with heart, and he is the most talented defencemen we have ever had. Hopefully Burns can learn a lot from him.

I thought this earlier this season with burns coming on board... Even with the young stud boyle is definitely still The Man and our offense loses a LOT without him. Watch him activate to hold the puck in the zone, he is so good at it. Almost never gets it wrong, his timing is impeccable. It's like he has ESP.

He's one of the top playoff performers of this generation. He's right up there with Lidstrom and Pronger as far as defenseman go with regards to stepping up their game in the playoffs. He has 34 points in his last 37 playoff games. That's ridiculous.

My favorite Shark since Nolan.

One of my favorite players even before he was traded to the Sharks. Cant believe hes actually on this team sometimes.
