His best years were with Mitchell, imo. He was the first guy I really wanted to do well. His stick positioning and gap control were unbelievable under Lemaire. But Lemaire stifled any offensive ability/first pass the first few years to make him become someone who is very routine in his plays.
If that's the case, then for sure it's good to get in a different player. The off the glass and out play is not beneficial.
Considering Commodore got a conditional 7th...maybe a 5th for Zanon?
Commodore for 7th was probably Detroit trying to unload him. Whether for roster purposes or out of respect for a vet who wants to play instead of sitting in a press box, I don't know, but I doubt they really cared about the pick.
