Nicky isn't returning this season. I have real concerns about his future at this point, as much as I ****ing hate saying that.

It was in regards to your reference to the noise at the Kettler Center bothering him, yet a floor hockey event at a local school which in all likelihood would be quite noisy as well apparently didn't bother him.

Like I said, two different days/events. Not sure one has anything to do with the other. Concussions aren't consistent in their symptoms sometimes.

Another Caps Insider!

I really doubt even the Caps know if they'll see #19 again this year.

That's the point. We're, what, almost two months since he got hit and there's no signs at all of him returning. This from a guy with a history of migraine problems. We're way beyond routine at this point. Why would anyone be comfortable that he'll return anytime soon and/or be completely fine once he does?

I am not comfortable that he'll return but for all we know, he could be on the ice again next week.

By just eeking out a regulation tie, a team is now able to get a point. So by not even scoring a goal, a bad team can still get a point every game of the year. That's 80+ points without scoring a single regulation goal.

Too many teams are "in it" still. With 6 weeks of hockey left, more teams that ever are taking the approach they may be able to make it to the playoffs.

Are there even any teams mathematically eliminated from the playoffs?

Perhaps there is collective effort to make all teams marketable as many days a year as possible. This is a business after all. Would you re-up your season tickets next month, if George sold en masse today, as many wished? Have any interest in going to catch the Isles Tuesday night? Hell no.

My only hope is that Ted's put McPhee on notice and told him he needs to ride it out with this roster he's assembled because beyond this spring, he may not be the one making the call on any more hockey deals for the Washington Capitals.

Lame Duck GMGM. I like it.

Yeah, the whole thing is weird... The hit didn't look like much, granted it was elbow to the head and all, but it didn't look very hard. I just hope, this doesn't mean that every time there is a contact Nick will be out... indefinitely...

Any reason why Knuble wasn't dealt seeing as how hes gonna be a UFA and is being sat out anyways? Wish the Kings traded for him.

I think it waw cos it was unexpected so he wasn`t even bracing for a hit of any kind......it still pisses me off that all the Caps did was have Hendricks essentially lose a fight to him......it`s ridiculous...Erskine was on the ice....it should`ve been premeditated that Johnny was the one who was gonna fight him.....bloody hell, at least teach the punk a lesson.

Too bad GMGM isn't as risk-averse with contracts.

Or in simple contingency planning.

Feeling bummed that we didn't swing a deal for futures, but all things being said I like us doing nothing more than us selling some future assets for some half-arsed run to nowhere this spring. This team was going nowhere, deal or no deal, I just wish they'd at least gotten rid of some soon to be free agents for picks or youth or both. Keeping everything as is seems rather pointless (but for me, wasn't the worst case scenario).

I find it hard to believe that there was nothing out there.. Anything is for sale for right price

As GMGM would say "... if any of them knew anything about the game they would be in it."

So is the trade deadline day over as far as Caps are concerned? Did we really do nothing at all?
