I'm not crazy about no practice today. Though like others said if it's a day of no physical practice, but meetings with video footage I'm good. They didn't have a practice nor do I think they had a morning skate with the early game yesterday?
Tomorrow a morning skate. Isn't a morning skate a little shorter, and less detailed than a practice? I don't know for sure.
i am starting to get back on board with splitting up 9 & 17. i was for splitting them early in the year, then against it for a long time, and now i am back in favor of it. i'd like to swap kovalchuk and zubrus (i.e. kovy to RW with elias-sykora so patty can feed him on his forehand, then zubrus to RW with henrique-parise). one thing i dont understand is why through all his times of juggling lines when the offense is struggling, deboer has NEVER ONCE tried to separate parise and kovalchuk. kinda frustrating in all honesty that he wont even try it.
I guess Washington is really that bad because we looked like monsters that game then go to LI for a huge letdown. All of this will be wiped away with a big win against the Rangers and two beat downs of the Isles.

Islanders easily eliminated Bruins offense. I guess they are really that good.
Every game is different. Let`s hope we get out of this slump tomorrow.
Not an easy task going against the same type of defense + Lundqvist, but what can you do? You just have to break through, grind it out.

I agree. I think it's time the line gets split up, but the problem is finding successful lines this close to the playoffs isn't easy.
The problem with Parise and Kovy on one line is it forces Parise to become a role player, so to speak. Basically Kovy is going to have the puck on his stick more than anyone else on the line. If Kovy is hot, then teams shadow him, he dishes an awesome pass to Parise who finishes. When Kovy is cold, he has one guy on him, he's taking stupid shots, making bad passes, turning the puck over, and Parise never gets a chance to shine.
The good thing about this is that even if Kovy goes cold, in turn negating both Henrique and Parise, we still have four other players that have 15 goals (some with plenty more) that can contribute. The problem is you don't want those guys to be carrying you.
I just wish the team would get it together. They say they are taking this seriously, and gonna play better, but it's rhetorical stuff after every game.
''We played good. It would be different if we were on this streak, but we weren't playing good. We are playing good though, and we're only losing by one goal. We didn't get enough bounces. They got the bounces''
Yesterday it wasn't the rhetorical stuff, but there was a lot of ''We didn't challenge him enough'' and then the next sentence ''We didn't take them lightly'' Are you kidding me?

it isnt easy, but DeBo should try it now instead of when we're down three games to none in the first round.
Who knows, there might be some immediate results

yea, its frustrating and mind boggling that he wont even give it a shot. he wouldnt have any legitimate reason for it either. i just think that would spread things out and as you said, who knows maybe it will turn out to be brilliant. but at the end of the day, if it hasnt happened yet, its not gonna now or anytime soon
Our playoff success will all depend on if we get hot at the right time. That hasn't happened really at all in the last 4 years in the playoffs, so lets hope this year is the year.
