people just don't understand the type of collapse it will take to have us miss.
as someone said last night, as long as we earn 0.82 points per game the rest of the way, we should be in. and the BJs are the only team in the league not averaging that right now
Does anyone remember the end of the regular season in 2000? We were basically in total collapse. Relax.
That doesn't help, if anything being reminded of that made me a touch paranoid...with only 17 games left that kind of stretch just might be bad enough to gag it up lol. Having 17 games left is a haunting thought for us Mets fans.
Pittsburgh again for the throwbacks? We had an awesome game against them the first time they wore them. I remember watching it in New Orleans with a Pens fan of all things. Zubrus had that fantastic crash the net goal.
Diggin the new center ice logo. When the took the Prudential Center text and put it outside of the center ice circle, it made the Devils logo look tiny. Nice to see they adjusted it.
two excerpts from elliotte friedmans 30 thoughts that are devils-related
Quote:
18. Nick Palmieri, who came to Minnesota from New Jersey, said the Wild's zone in that area of the ice isn't as aggressive as the one Peter DeBoer brought to the Devils. A couple New Jersey defencemen said DeBoer was asking them to do things they'd never done before, like leave the front of the net to overload down low. "We're pressuring the puck more than ever," one said. Seems to be working pretty well.
19. One Devil on Ilya Kovalchuk: "Boy, does he want the puck right now."
Both interesting to me.....the first one basically explains why guys lose coverage so much (especially in front of the net), and the second one could either be taken as positive or negative (does that mean he is hungry and working hard or being selfish?), would have to have been there to hear the context/tone used.

Sometimes I forget the kinda wheels Zajac has.

Parise is playing. Greene seemed alright in the morning skate, and he's gonna take the warmups and see how he feels.
Corey Perrey was just on NHL Live and was saying how they lost a road game against this team, that team, and NJ and that they are all tough buildings to play in......don't hear that too much about us (we did have a great atmosphere at that game though)

Listen all the way through that throwback jersey game from a couple seasons ago. Steigerwald starts to throw in some jabs about Devils attendance towards the end when the Penguins are obviously done.

i just found the comments to be hypocritical. the noise level at consol never overwhelms me.
Already known, but Devils put out a release today announcing they'll wear their "classic" red, green and white sweaters 3/17 vs. Pittsburgh
Awesome. I'll be there that night, love seeing those in person.
