The only thing I don't like about that is Clarkson with Kovalchuk. Clarkson is a black hole with the puck, and that doesn't seem like it'd bode well for Kovalchuk.
Jason summed up my feelings exactly. Anytime I try to make the lines look effective on paper, Clarkson pops up in my head as a non-fitting piece.
That lineup is probably the best lineup you could possibly come up with. Whatever, I`m just happy he produces. Not so much about his future contract though.
Clarkson's possession and shot look great this year. His hands too. I agree with Eggers that his decision making otherwise leaves something to be desired (basically "I've circled the net 3 times, now what do I do?"), but he's been pretty effective.
I loved PDB's quotes on Josefson and I am also looking forward to seeing this new third line. I wouldn't be wholly upset about Poni - Josefson - Bernier either.
Last point about the Boston game. I know some here are worried about this matchup especially given the 4-1 score in their last meeting but I'm more optimistic. This is a very different team from that team.
Gone are Foster, Zalewski, Mills, and replaced by healthier Josefson, Poni, and Bernier.

That's a good point. And hopefully, the line changes today mesh quickly so they don't fall behind early against Boston.
The thing is Sykkie has only been scoring when he was with Patty. I think DeBoer sees that the best possible chance to get the best out of him is by keeping him with Patty.
I don't think there's been a single game this season where Sykora wasn't on Elias' line so it's really hard to say if he can or cannot score with different linemates.

Elias wasn't out on Sykora's goal against TB, was he? And he was scoring in the preseason without Elias, but obviously that's not much of an indicator of anything.

They were separated for some time when Elias centered Kovy and Parise. Sykora was pretty invisible most of the time. Thankfully, we were winning for the most part so it wasn't such a big deal.
You hate to put rookie in a difficult position. However, with Gelinas on fire in Albany, how about seeing what he could do in NHL? You can always send him back down and say we wanted you to get a taste.
I want to see him get a cup of coffee soon, but with the stretch run coming up, I don't think it's the right time for it. Not unless there are some injuries, and in that case, Harrold is probably the first call up.
