Bring on the Firesale (Flames)

In the biggest game of the year, with feaster clearly giving the flames a choice, either you show up and win, or else.

Flames just blew a 3-0 lead against Philly and lost.

Bring on the fire sale. Monday just got a whole lot more interesting.

Cowtown Selling The Farm?

With the loss tonight, I believe they drop to 11th. Feaster made comments regarding the team's work ethic, and they blow a three goal lead and lose in the shootout.

I know Feaster said that his words were those of a frustrated GM, but you gotta think there's more then just a little truth within.

What do you guys think will go down?

Isn't this the 3rd fire sale thread today? If everyone suddenly becomes sellers though it will drive prices down for Nashville and allow many open possibilities...so i'm not complaining.

Calgary wasn't going to make the playoffs anyway. The west are beasts and very difficult for top 8.

he was probably just blowing smoke up their arses...

flames as an organization are "all-in" as far as making the playoffs, don't see them moving any vets for picks/prospects right now, even though that's exactly what they need to do at this point.

I agree we will be sellers but I doubt any of GlenX, Jokinen, Tangs, Jbow, Gio will be traded I don't want Kipper or Iggy to be traded but I can understand why they would be available.

The way Jokinen is playing this year, he can def get a 1st round pick for him.

Late first yeah. I don't know if he will waive now that Gleninator brings it up. It probably depends on the scenario.

I don't have the quote but he said after being traded last time he didn't want to be traded it would have to be to a contender and he should easily bring a first if traded.

Feaster said before the game on CBC that he already told Jokinen he wasn't trading him and wants to work on an extension.

Nah... that was Feaster blowing smoke. Sure, the Flames crapped the bed (were outshot, outworked, out skilled and only were in the game due to poor goaltending) but Feaster's enamoured by this roster despite his threats. There'll be nothing radical going down.

I think you can also add Moss, Kostopoulos, and possibly Babchuk.

Not so sure 'bout that, but it's irrelevant since the Flames have an aversion to gathering draft picks.

So how fast was Jokinen pointing to Hemsky's contract?

Yeesh. Go from 1-0 to 6-1 against the Oil, then 2-0 to 4-3 against PHX, and now 3-0 to 5-4 against Philly?

Most likely all talk, nothing will happen other than shipping out some low level UFA's like Hannan and Sarich.

Name one better offensive player that would be better and available?
