OT: minor body work on vehicle

not sure why i wrote "on vehicle" in the subject, but....

Someone hit my passenger side mirror in a public parking lot. They didn't stick around and karma will come around to them, I'm sure.

I called the dealership, and it will run me $500 plus tax to get fixed.

Anywhere in town I can go to get this replaced?

2008 black Hyundai Santa Fe.

Cheers!

The only work I have had done is at "Allard's Collision" in Kanata. They did good work but everything was covered under insurance so I can't comment on price.

Try Alek's Autobody on Gladstone. They've been very good with work I've had done (price and quality).

I've been to Carstar and Camco Acura.

Both good.

In my car repair experience i have always found it cheaper to order the part myself (or go through a buddy who owns/works for an autobody shop who can get you the part at cost) and then simply have it painted professionally to your specific paint at a reputable company then simply do the installation yourself....and if you are unsure of how to do this you can either pick up the vehicle specs guide or go online. Last time i did this i saved $600 on my rear bumper which was estimated at $1000 to repair from the dealership but ended up costing me $200 cost price for bumper plus $200 to paint it then i simply installed myself. Also you can try looking for spare parts from used car yards like union auto.

AMS Auto on riverside. Same thing happened to us, set us back approximately $300. Nick will help you out, most honest mechanic in ottawa.

Carkner's dad in Winchester does great work. I had my rocker panel replaced and rear door fixed. Still looks as good as new. PRice was much better than most quotes I had in the city.

cool guys - thanks.

The car is black and the part shipped is black, so assuming no painting needed...just need to get the work done now...

thanks again!
