I'm stuck with a sportsnet feed and got to tell you it's such a fresh breath of air from tsn. Yay for tsn breaking the trades first but sn is really very well run . Only downside so far is having Garrioch on tv but hey, I'll take it

Well, it depends on who we get back.

If you could move your 1st rounder for a young player who will have an impact this year and will be with the team for 5+ years, then it makes sense, because you're not trading AWAY futures, you're just buying development years, in a sense.

But clearly, for anything else, I agree: it would be a setback to the rebuild.

I don't think LA will move him unless it's to make room for another trade. It's an expiring contract... he's played like garbage, but there's no motivation to move him otherwise.

Only way I'd be ok with giving up that pick is if we're getting back a young, under 25 player who will be with the team long-term.
