Carle will end up somewhere else. I don't see the Flyers signing Suter or Weber because a ton of cap money is going to go into:
-Resigning Jagr (I imagine he'll want at least $3 million.)
-Resigning Voracek (Another $2-3 million)
-Resigning Grossman (We need his style of defense, easily $3 million)
-Resigning Kubina (Hopefully he'll take a paycut down to $3 million or less)
-Possibility of Chris Pronger returning/retiring and receiving his full cap hit.
-Possibility that the Flyers try to trade Bobrovsky and his small salary and pick up another goalie with a bigger salary (if Bryzgalov plays awful for the rest of this season/playoffs).

I thought a lot of cap floor teams can't afford the cap increase because the floor increases as well? How can they keep pushing it up?
i think hes showing his age (prone to injury/ looking tired/reserved so he doesnt reinjure).. for the team to offer him another season..
not to say im not happy with him, i think he has been awesome, but i just think hes to long in the tooth now. and a nother full season might be more then he can muster.. esp. if we by some miracle go deep in the PO this season..

Really? I was almost certain he will be staying because:
-He has stated multiple times he would be happy to return.
-He's been somewhat of a fan favorite.
-Arguments about locker room presence/leadership/experience.
-The organization might see some benefit to having him retire as a Flyer.
I think this line-up is a realistic possibilitly if we go hard for Suter.

I made a small increase on the cap.. 2 million dollars. It can go up more or it actually can go down. I have a feeling though since we just had that TV deal, and I heard Bettman say the league will break records for revenue again this year, it will increase.
Hopefully the CBA is settles peacefully, but everyone thinks it will be a struggle.

Well, given that many people believe the cap will actually decrease, and the fact that my scenario is still already over cap by nearly $1 million (if Pronger doesn't return or retire), it's probably realistic.
If Bobrovsky gets traded I imagine they'll try to sign Vokoun or Nabokov and I don't know whether they'll receive a higher salary than Bobrovsky.
I am not sure why everyone is giving Voracek such a raise? He is on pace to score his regular 46pts. Unless he does something dramatic in playoffs he should get his 10% raise.

i could see him getting around 8.5 or 9 million for three years. Maybe something like 2.6, 2.9, 3.3= 2.93 cap hit. I think that would be a decent deal IMO

Well, people value him based on his potential. I think people assume given more time on a higher line he could break out.

Actually, playing on a team that is offensively stacked should decrease an individual player's scoring stats because they are sharing time with many other scoring players.
Also, he has been bumped around on various line combinations.

He plays with talented players. You constantly see him on PP. Almost every forward averaging 16-17min of ice time with exception of Claude. Voracek has talent but he also cannot finish. Until he does we should not make him a significant offer.

Good for niche sports. They typically blow away the rest of the league in MLS attendance, for what that's worth. Plus the NHL could benefit from another west coast team, especially one within a couple hours from Vancouver to build a rivalry.

Can you imagine if we sign him to something long term, worth more than $5m/year, and he keeps playing like this? He'll get absolutely destroyed, worse than Bryz does. He may not be able to go out in this town...
