Curious why it took so long for this to come out? I agree that I don't make that move, but do we really know that this is the case?

Like anything it's a rumour. Derek Van Diest reported it a few minutes ago.

Although, seeing the return Kostitsyn got, the rumoured return for Hemsky seems to make sense.

This exactly.

I don't get why people keep comparing Hemsky with Andrei Kostitsyn. Kostitsyn has never been close to the production Hemmer has been putting up since the lockout.

Sure, Hemmer has had a bad year and has an injury-prone tag on him, but his numbers are lightyears ahead of Kostitsyn's.

Like it or not that's how far his value has dropped. I agree that Hemsky is better than AK, but it doesn't matter what I think only what other GMs are willing to give.

Plus the rumoured return for Hemsky is better than what AK was traded for so I guess they think Hemsky is a bit better.

They aren't even comparables imo. Two totally different players.

I honestly doubt anyone knows (or will know) for sure what the best offer was for Hemsky... but I wouldn't doubt a 2nd and a 4th (or a 2nd and a minor prospect) was the best return they had on the table.

I think the Oilers would have moved him if a 1st or decent dman would have been coming back.

Bang on. Hemsky >> Kostitsyn

Wonder what Suter is thinking, and seeing if this is the only move and commitment the NSH management has tried to improve the team, no way Suter want to re-sign there.

Not even want to give a mid 1st round pick for a better upgrade and just make a half a$$ effort to get Kostitsyn. Obviously the team is saying we worry about the future more than the present.

Lebrun's saying NSH isn't done. I know it's slow but that's jumping to conclusions a little I'd say.

I bet Suter is waiting more than one trade to see what else Poille is going to do and then even if no trades get done he is waiting to see how the new additions add to the team before bailing.

NSH gets to the conference final with this team you think Suter is going to say " piss on NSH they only added gill and Kostitsyn"?

Main board says Burke rejected a trade offer for Reimer. Maybe it was Tambo offering Khabi?

The entire TSN panel systematically ripping on the Flames prospect pool. I guess it isn't only us and Nuck fans that can recognize this. Flames fans are probably in hysterics over what they said about their good "young team."

Apparently he's a close childhood friend of Hall.

Chicago and San Jose's clock to get a goaltender clicking. I really hope one of them makes a play for Khabi.,

Pretty sure Lebrun meant they aren't making deals for the day.

Teams are allowed to make more than one deal on trade deadline day.

I think if Steve Ott is available, he'd fit well with Nashville.
