Exactly, so the offer would be even worse. As I said, they'd have a much better shot at Schneider.

You expect Vancouver to ask for a kings ransom to offload Roberto's contract? If there were a taker for him I'd gladly pick up a good prospect and walk away with my cap space.

?

No, they would have a much better shot at Luongo.
The Canucks would trade Luongo instantly if they could, almost regardless of the offer.

Dealing for Schneider is much more difficult especially since they wont want to trade him until they've exhausted the possibilty of moving Luongo for anything.
if its determined no one will take Luongo then i suppose they may trade schneider and its at that point the Leafs will get gorssly outbid. some team would offer a good player for him while the leafs will offer a bunch of question marks.

All because of a contract? LOL! Last I checked, Luongo is still one of the best goalies in the league. Don't see why Vancouver would be so desperate to trade him. If a good deal came along at the right price, than yes they would want to unload his contract, but they're certainly not shopping him.

And because of the contract, there would be MORE interest in Schneider.

of course there will be more interested in Schneider, there's more interest in VANCOUVER for Schneider than there is for Luongo.

with all due respect you need to check again, and feel free to discuss with Vancouver fans.
im not sure Luongo even starts the playoffs in goal for the 'Nucks.

Toronto would be insane to deal one of those guys for Luongo. And let's be reality, Luongo isn't going to waive his NTC to go to the that disaster in Toronto and leave one of most livable cities on the planet. The only fit I could see for Luongo is Florida. Even then, I doubt the Panthers can commit to a contract that goes into the next decade.

it seems like a decent fit, but i remember burke saying that he's not a fan of the super long-term deals; therefore, i doubt he'd pull the trigger unless van city gives him away for next to nothing. i guess cory's the real deal then...

Why do people make these comments? "Vancouver would give Luongo away for free just to get rid of that contract!"

Luongo signed his contract in 2010. Mike Gillis was the one that gave him the contract. Mike Gillis is STILL the gm of Vancouver. If he didn't think that Luongo was worth the contract he would not have signed him to it.

Scheinder is good yes, but Luongo took Vancouver to the Stanley cup finals. He won a gold medal. Scheinder is not proven to the level Luongo is. He is more likely to be moved.

Stop talking out your butts.

I dont think luongo's terrible and I definitely dont think he'll be had for a bag of pucks... I just think Schnieder is and will be better

I have a good gut feeling (I'll emphasize GUT FEELING and not call it a factual prediction) that Luongo is gonna struggle enough that they turn to Schnider and hes gonna steal the show...and in that case they will be forced to trade Lu for something below his equal value

I would not complain if we were to re-acquire him. We could really use his skill in the top six.

Michalek - Spezza - Havlat

Yes, I like that line. Havlat doesn't have to play with Spezza though. He can produce with scrubs if need be. Apparently Michalek and Marty are good friends too.

Greening - Spezza - Michalek
Foligno - Turris - Havlat
Silfverberg - Zibanejad - Alfredsson
Condra - Smith - Neil

I don't know about having two rookies on the same line, but damn. That's some nice depth.

EDIT: Forgot about Regin.

I'v wanted havlat back in Ottawa since he was traded for spare parts! Been a pipe dream of mine for a long time. I don't see San Jose parting with him for anything Murray would be willing to give up unless they decide that their window is closed.

One can dream though!

I get the sense that O'Brien is someone coach trusts. He's out there is all situations it seems and his FO % is getting better. Some body(ies) has/have to be moved.

Havlat, No thanks. Old and always injured and not that good anymore. Any push to bring him back is rooted in nostalgia.
