Plekanec to Ducks

Perfect fit as 2C for Ducks in the future? Koivu aint getting younger.

What would Ducks have to give up? Sbisa/Fowler? Or does picks + prospects do it?

The only way i see Plekanec to the Ducks working is

Plekanec+

for

one of the big 3 (and theyd need long term deals first too)

Plekanec is a huge part of the Habs and not for sale for less than elite talents back.

Sbisa and Fowler are the Ducks future on the blueline. No way we give either one up for Plekanec. Also I don't see the Ducks taking on 5 mil for a 2nd line center when Perry, Getzlaf and Fowler are up for renewal next year...

Plekanec is an elite second line center and elite pker ... at least we would want from habs pov :

Dsp + Etem + 1st 2012

but have to mention that Thomas is part of the core and he's one of the 5 untradeble player !! (price plekanec gorges pacioretty cole, 6 if include Subban)

he also mentioned this week that Montreal is his town till the end ,,,,

Yeah this isn't something that will work. I doubt the Ducks would trade Etem or DSP at this point. and Certainly not for Plekanec. IMO we'd expect a player like Kesler to be the return. And Plekanec isn't near his value.

The Kesler talks are a mute point. He is NOT available and even if he was, I highly doubt Vancouver trades him to Anaheim, a direct rival.

Habs can't afford to downgrade with him.

as for Plekanec who doesn't want to leave ... I guess it's pure speculation on what Ducks will give for them ....

@SunGarrioch As I wrote today, the Habs are listening to offers for Tomas Plekanec. They want a hockeydeal though: Player for player #NHL #SNTrade

Fully agreed. It would cost, for sure.

Absolutely. Also, let's not forget that he has a "modified NTC", whatever that means.

Don't really see much of a fit in terms of trading to the Ducks. Other than a deal around either Sbisa or Etem. Pleky is a core player and we really can't afford to trade him, at least until we see if Eller can prove that he can handle a top-6 center role. Ideally, Montreal would want to package Pleks for Getzlaf, but that simply wont happen (even when things were going badly for Anaheim, Getz wasn't really on the table) so no point in debating that front.

Not necessarily. It's not a full NTC. Likely can name a few teams he'd accept/refuse trade for.

I'd deal him for a young top 6 winger. Draft a center in the top 5. I don't know who the Ducks have in the system but someone like Kuznetsov from Washington.
