every junior player heading to North America out of Russia must read this:http://www.sports.ru/hockey/142367570.html and think really hard before putting that signature on the NA contract.
Stal'nie Izhi are gone, Baltica is an uknown, so is Kirovo-chepetsk (heard they have troubles too)
really would be a shame if Baltica left mhl,if Baltica stays maybe just MAYBE it can trigger a spark in lithuanian hockey,would really like to see our southern brothers do well at hockey.
just got back from the game New England - Omsk Hawks, it was a good game, Omsk was a much better team and won 5:1. The game was fiesty, a lot of near-fights and some dirty hits. New Englnd goalie was sharp (believe it, else the score would have been in the teens) and the posts saved Omsk couple of times. Efimov was there with his wife an MHL photographer, and another girl with a notebook - must have been doing online text.
2 hours in traffic was well worth it, I might go tomorrow as well. I hope Omsk has the energy to compete tomorrow, as they have to play two games in one day and they wasted a lot of energy today.
I have just found this in MHL rulebook. Will copy in original
Quote:
возраст хоккеиста - от 17 лет (1995 года рождения) до 21 года (1991 года рождения) включительно. Количество хоккеистов 1991 года рождения в самостоятельных клубах – не более 4 человек. Количество хоккеистов 1991 года рождения в клубах, имеющих команду КХЛ/ВХЛ – не более 3 человек. С письменного разрешения МХЛ после прохождения углубленного медицинского обследования в медицинских учреждениях, рекомендованных Медицинским центром КХЛ, к заявке допускаются хоккеисты в возрасте 16 лет (1996 года рождения) без количественных ограничений, но не противоречащих Регламенту;
ПРИМЕЧАНИЕ: В сезоне 2013-2014 гг. количество хоккеистов 1992 года рождения сократится до 2 человек;
To sum up, many of us wants to reduce amount of overagers in MHL (born 91 for next season). According to this rule, only two guys born 1992 will be allowed to play MHL in 2013/14 season. In season 2012/13 it is 4 or 3 guys born 1991, so MHL reduce amount of eldest guys for season 2013/14
Lol. Another ~5 Lithuanians will be able to play bottom six minutes in subpar Russian Junior league? How would Lithuanian hockey cope without this gift from heaven.

Well its not subpar its pretty decent actually and 5 lithuanians in MHL is still better than nothing.

It is nothing, really. There are more Lithuanians playing Liepaja then in Vilnius ffs. Until their roster is dominated by Lithuanians this project will be meaningless to Lithuanian hockey as such. End of the story.

Yeah but thats what im saying they have to have Baltica,so lithuanians gradually,step by step take over roster spots.
