I'll miss Ben. He was all class through his whole career so far, and I hope he gets a decent shot in Ottawa.

Did anyone else see this?

Jeremy Rutherford ‏ @jprutherford
Reports out of Ottawa say Ben Bishop will report to Senators' AHL affiliate in Binghamton, not OTT as originally expected.

That's pretty crazy. It seemed like everyone (including Bishop) thought he was going to be in the Ottawa lineup. I really thought he was going to get some NHL play this year. But I guess he could still get called up.

According to Bryan Murray, he will get a call up next week.

Does Ottawa have an unprotected goalie they're trying to shuffle around and keep? I suspect this is just a player management issue.

According to their last week games, he was 1.8 seconds away from tying the teams shut-out record in a season as well.

And also on the website, I found he was included in the initial voting for the Hobey Baker award.

Also has the second best SV% in the ecac.

Big Ben is now 3-0-2 with a 1.92 GAA and .926 SV% with Ottawa who are now 1st in the NE and 2nd in the East. Boston does have 2 games in hand, though.

Has any other deadline deal worked out as well as Bishop for the Sens? Hard to believe they would be playing this well with Auld or Lehner.
