Penguins - Kings(Brown)

Not even sure if LA really wants to move him or if all the rumors lately were just simply rumors. Kings just picked up a 35 goal guy in Carter and can afford to move a guy like Brown to replenish some assets they lost in the trades for Penner and Carter. Pittsburgh would be interested to add another player who has consistently put up 25 goals a year during his career.

Dustin Brown

2013 First round pick
RW Tyler Kennedy

Kings get a first round pick back to make up for one they just lost and a speedy winger who is a decent secondary scorer capable of 20 goals. Pens get a winger for Crosby.

Kunitz-Malkin-Neal
Brown-Crosby-Dupuis
Cooke-Staal-Sullivan
Adams-Vitale-Asham

Doubt very much LA is looking to move Brown. Think I woud prefer Brown in my lineup over Kennedy. The pick is nearly a second.

Unless they have to clear cap space I dont see why the Kings would be looking to downgrade at wing. And even if they need cap space they must have other less damaging options of players to move along.

I'd do that

Tangradi needs a change of scenery imo

I dont think its a matter of making cap space but more a matter of who can get them a decent return in assets due to giving so much up the last two trade deadlines. I think getting a secondary scorer + first round pick and maybe even another prospect in Tangradi is a good deal for both teams.

Penner and Stoll would seem more likely to go. I would be very surprised at this point if Brown is moved this year. Listen to all offers and see if you can get a Kings ransom. Other than that keep him. Sounds like LA floated his name for just that but it got out beyond their control.

I think all of the stuff you guys are offering for Brown is junk to the Kings.

But it's been said already several times here. Kings and Pens are not good trading partners. We're both looking for scoring wingers.

Kennedy and Tangradi are not bad players but the Kings really have no need to add two more centers.

Centers?!?! I'm pretty sure you don't follow Penguins at all.

EDIT: Pretty sure you just looked at TSN:s team stats, 'cause yes, there they are marked as centers. Don't trust everything you see.

This is an awful proposal, but i just wanna know how a 2013 first makes up for the 2012 first they lost? (they'll make the playoffs)

I know they can play both, and that they are listed as centers, but your right maybe four or five times a year. Kennedy's production seems low this year. Tangradi is highly touted but cant seem to get it going. Not sure if he has been put in the right situations in Pitt or not.

I think Kings won't find anything that they would trade for from Pens, anything that Shero would like.

Paul Martin + Eric Tangradi or maybe Kennedy would be something to swap for, if Martin would have a lower cap hit.

Both haven't played center since their OHL days. Kennedy is a RW and Tangradi is still trying to find a place on either wing. But anyway, Kings wouldn't accept this (especially since Kennedy has a down year and is out with a high ankle sprain) unless they are extremely desperate for another 1st round pick. Brown is worth more than that.

I believe the Kings would require Despres/Morrow and a 1st just to listen.

Kennedy has shown he can putt up 20 goals like he did last year playing more minutes. Neither him or Tangradi have ever played center here in Pitt. Tangradi is just an odd man out here because we have better power forwards in Kunitz and Neal in our top 6

Thanks for the clarification.

I think LA could flush out its lineup. We are not really in need of D as Voynov is more than capable and Martinez can be solid. We have guys in the pipe as well.

If we moved Brown, a deal that could bring in two decent lesser lite forwards might not be bad.

Again Kennedy + Tangradi would be closer, didn't say it would get it done.

Then you're not getting Brown for the pile of crap offered here.

I think before a bad proposal is made that only helps your team, think about the other team's needs and having just moved Johnson, that's a dman. Sorry if you don't like the price but it's what the Kings will reghtfully ask for Brown and several teams are more than willing to pay.

Yeah, i know. I thought the first proposal was bad and tried to make it a little better but it's still not good enough to get Brown

I thought I had read that the Kings were looking for 2 young D in exchange for Brown (this is when the Brown rumor first came out).
