Agreed, but the asking price is currently a 1st round pick for a rental. Hard to believe the Canes would give up that much for a pending UFA. The most I could see was a prospect who doesn't seem to be progressing as much as Carolina would like in the system, but I doubt the Isles would be all that interested.
Yep, and although strange things happen, I'd be very surprised if he returned a 1st round pick. He'd be such a good fit in Carolina.

Come on, Rutherford, show some actions. Would love to see good hockey trade, not just rental for pick. I like Morrow, Brown, Raymond or even D. Jones. But not a Frolik fan. He's nothing more than that dead weight we have it here. I'm in favour of trading some of prospects (Bowman, Dalpe or Boychuk) if we get it in return a strong and quality player. Right now Mason Raymond seems to be low risk high reward guy.
Good move by Nashville, but what we really need is for an undisputed contender (Vancouver, Boston, Detroit, NY Rangers) to make a move to get better. That will hopefully start a chain reaction of panic moves for teams trying to keep up. So far, it's been the middling teams making the moves (Los Angeles, Calgary, Nashville, Florida), and I'm not sure that's scaring anyone.
