I don't disagree. I think it just has more to do with him being an inconsistent offensive player, rather than him being burned out in NY and needing a change of scenery.
Hunter is a bad coach. While Knuble might be done, how Hunter handles him doesn't really tell you much either way on how a guy is playing
Hunter a bad coach? The guy just took over. Might well be, not a big Caps follower, but you usually don't end up on the bench "just because"... If you're fighting for a playoff spot you field your best team, if Knuble isn't on the ice it says something
Malone is 32 years old and signed until 2015; Malone has been fairly injury prone. Dubinsky is 25 and should be easy to re-sign with still decent amount of upside left. Why else would I not want a lot more? If Sather moved Dubi for Malone straight up, I think everyone on here would be pretty furious.

He's a bad coach. They're worse under him than they were on Boudreau, they're more inconsistent, and instead of trying to play to the strengths of his players he has tried to force them into a system that he doesn't have the personnel to play.
If Erksine can be had for basicall next to nothing, he may not be a bad get. Ditto for Gaustad, but Buffalo will ask for a lot. However, how much can they realistically ask for for a 3rd line center? Adding him and subtracing out either Mitchell or Fededenko will be an upgrade.

I really don't worry when it comes to Sather and trades. FAs? Of course, but when was the last time Sather made a dumb trade? People try and point to the Lisin-Korpikoski and Zherdev-Tyutin trades, but those trades were a calculated risk that just didn't pan out. We traded from a position of organizational strength to address a weakness. High-upside reclamation project for known-quantity spare part. In the end, neither of those trades have really hurt us.

I dont think he will either mate. I just get nervous on the trade deadline because you just never know whats going to happen.
