If they aren't going to address all the issues keeping this team from being a definite contender and a trip to at least the ECF, I hope they don't address anything.
Get rid of the dead weight, and go to battle with what they have. No use wasting picks or moving prospects for rentals, if they're not going to make the moves that put this team over the top. See what next year brings if they can't make a deep run with a young roster.
More scoring, primary, and secondary, and/or someone who could potentially spark the PP. Defensive depth with deep playoff experience for the bottom pairing. Bottom-6 faceoff guy with hopefully some secondary scoring skills.
Personally, there aren't many players I see on the market who address any, or all of these needs, and fit in with this team.

Based on the rumors putting a very strong package together for Nash is a no brainer for the rangers.
What are they giving up?
Dubi.. Salary must be cut somewhere. 6 goals for his pay is too high a price to pay.
1st round draft choice- Almost an early second round pick.
Two top prospects. (erixson / Kreider) They're still prospects. The Rangers can afford to lose 1 D and 1 forward prospect to obtain a 29 year old star who can carry the team for years after gabby is gone. Age fits well with lundy.
Odds that both prospects / 1st round pick become all stars? I'll take the guaranteed star now and take a shot.
From a risk/reward the trade should be made if the rumors of whose in the package is close. Current roster changes?? A massive trade up.
Kostitsyn plays a style different from Wolski. He's bigger, stronger, and more of a goal scorer. I think he'd be a great fit with Richards, he's got a very good wrist shot.
I think Torts would be fine with AK. He's actually physical, and can hit with the best of them.

Having them both in MTL was a problem in the first place, supposedly partying issues. Bringing both of them to NYC, if that was the case, would be a disaster.
Plus, with Nashville going to the playoffs, there is little chance Sergei is available.
If the rumored package of Dubi + is the offer for Nash then he's my #1 target. Behind him, Gaustad. Big center man who can win face offs, kill penalties, score some goals and isn't afraid to drop the gloves. Would like him as our 3C moving Boyle back to 4C.
After that, there is nobody that excites me all that much. I don't think Brown is available, I don't know much about Ott. Unless Sather pulls a rabbit out of his hat then it's Nash or Gaustad for me. And I don't offer more than a 2nd/3rd + B prospect for Gaustad.

To me this is when fans start going off the wall. Gaustad is Boyle plus 10 years.

We've had interest in O'Brien before. I wouldn't mind him. From what I've watched, he seems like a better version of Bickel. Would be an OK piece, but hardly necessary.
