Zipay says the Rangers have interest in Shane O'Brien and Chris Campoli. IMO, they should be looking for a bigger upgrade than that, but it is what it is.
Add Jones and O'Brien and I'll be happy.
I fail to see how any of these options are better than what Torts is already getting the most out of in Eminger, Stralman, Bickel, and Woywitka.
Really, it's not worth wasting assets on.

This.
I really don't understand why we need to waste pick/assets on rental defenseman. Depth, fine, but i'd rather just roll with what we got, with Sauer maybe returning sometime this season. (I haven't heard anything, is he scheduled to return at all?)
Was hoping the Rangers would get all their moves out of the way before tomorrow so I don't have to keep checking my phone while at work. Oh well. Won't be the first time a Trade Deadline Day or Free Agent Frenzy has hindered my motivation at work.
Maybe the Rangers should dangle Dubinsky in a trade. He is playing on the 3rd line. He saw zero PK time last night. Was Torts preparing for the trade? He saw 1 minute on the PP. Dubinsky looks lost out there. Don't give him for nothing. Get back quality. A team looking to change their mix. Dubinsky can play center.

The Rangers haven't playing too well defensively lately, but we still need scoring a lot more than defense. I'd rather spend our assets there.
Most of his scoring chances are high percentage plays. Rebounds, tap ins, the works. He's a big body with decent speed that drives the net. Solid defensively. I think Tortorella would love him.
the more I look into him, the more I love him too.

6:08PM: Carp from Rangers Report tweets: “Wow. Sounds as if, not only are the Rangers out on Nash, but they don’t expect any major moves by the deadline. Surprised? I am.
Carp is funny.......the market stinks......by no major moves it means depth Dman and faceoff C.......I dont expect anything MAJOR either
I just want a face-off specialist. A cheap veteran bottom-pairing defenseman would be nice as well, but a face-off specialist should be the number one priority.
I agree. The defense as it's been for the past few weeks isn't containing Malkin and Hank can't do everything by himself all the time.
Right now, we're back to being a team that relies on Hank. The offense has been streaky and the defense has been subpar.
To me, the effort hasn't been there. Look at the first goal yesterday, players got complacent thinking Staal could fend off those guys, and instead of busting it back, glided back and were half a second late on preventing that chance. Effort level needs to go back up. I'd bring in an energy 3rd/4th liner and a depth player for defense along with possibly a face off guy.
Someone I'd like to see the team possible go after is another Jones, but not David. Ryan Jones would be a good guy to grab off of Edmonton with them being sellers at the deadline. He's signed for next season at a modest 1.5 million and has 24 points (13G 11A) this season. He'd be a solid 3rd/4th liner for us and would bring some more energy to the roster. He could replace someone like Rupp or Mitchell, possibly even Feds.

Pens scare me, but as long as we can contain Malkin we can beat the Pens in the playoffs easily. They rely on Malkin as much as we rely on Hank sometimes lol
With Crosby back and a still red-hot Malkin, the Penguins will roll over everyone sans Detroit, imo.
Crosby is a big IF for them. You don't come back from that injury. It just doesn't happen, and if you do, you get it again. Odds are, Crosby won't be playing come play off time.

Minus the Stepan empty net goal the Rangers have scored 3 goals in the last 3 games we played against them. With that type of production, we can have Crosby, Malkin, Neal, and Staal hurt and they'll beat us.

Yet we are 2-2 against them. And we beat them with Crosby.

And what about when we beat them 4-3 with Crosby in the lineup? Was that a fluke? Luck?
And why does Fleury's mistake not count as a goal? He can do it in the regular season, he can do it in the playoffs.
