This will be one of the more interesting threads as the season winds down. As long as we can get the kind of game we got tonight from Dubi, we'll have added a difference maker. Best game from him in some time. The kind of game that should be expected from him.
Kudos to Torts for finally lighting a fire under his arse.

Interesting that the bulk of his game tonight was played at Center ice . I know he scored his goal on LW but IMO BD is best when he is rushing the puck through the NZ as a C .
Even Dave Maloney said he was best in the middle of the ice ton.

Dubi's always been a center. Never understood why they changed that.
Is Dubinsky trying to get himself traded? Last week,he throws the stick of an opposing player and gets a penalty. He gets benched for the rest of the game and nearly got scratched the following game. Last night,he gets into a fight with a career journeyman 4th liner. Dubinsky suffers an undisclosed hand injury. Rangers management can't be happy. Torts isn't happy. Dubinsky has been around for a while. He is 26 years old. He got the big money he wanted. Dubinsky has been a major disappointment. Not only with his play but his lack of maturity.

It seems to me like he has some kind of motivation problem. Maybe some private issues or what ever, but he just isn't there on the ice this season.

In my best John Tortorella voice: Have you ever fought before? Dubi sticks up for himself and his teammates last night, and you come out with some sarcastic post?

Who was he sticking up for? Carter hadn't done anything, hadn't taken a run at anyone, nor had any of the other debbies at that point. He isn't making 4.2 mil to get in fights.

Carter hit Dubi away from the puck. So himself directly, and in the general sense he was looking to set the take no **** tone for the team.
I don't know how anyone is faulting a guy who is still struggling a bit offensively for dropping the gloves.

Just have to wait and see, majorly disappointed with him though. Early on he was doing more to help, but now he just plays like he's skating around the local rink

The Rangers have bigger plans and bigger dreams but it doesn't seem Brandon is on the same page.
He gets involved with a player in Carolina who cleared waivers earlier this season and then Dubinsky gets involved with another player who was claimed on waivers.
Protecting his teammates?
Dubinsky wanted the big money. He got the big money. With that big money comes more responsibility and more weight.
You can't see that?
Dubinsky is supposed to be a main player on this team. He has not been a main player all year. Dubinsky lost his PP time. In the last two weeks,he lost his time on the PK. He is playing on the 3rd and 4th lines. Last night,he gets into a fight with a journeyman 4th line player suffering an undisclosed hand injury. If he damaged his hand,he will be out for a while. He is going to find himself in another city next season.
Then again with the way Dubinsky has played this season, they won't miss him anyway.

The Rangers did not provide an update on Dubinsky’s status following the game, pledging to do so at practice today. If the winger — who opened as fourth-line center between Mike Rupp and John Scott — did indeed suffer a fracture, he is likely to miss a considerable number of the 17 games that remain before the season concludes one month from today.

I don't know how anyone could possibly feel that Dubinsky engaging in absolutely pointless fights with minor league caliber players is in any way shape or form going to help this team win.
Granted, the way he's played this season, he hasn't done all that much to help this team win, anyway.

You need to smarten up.
You act as if he can just decide to start scoring more. That's asinine. He knows he's failing in that facet of the game so he's trying to pick up the physical part of his game so at least he's contributing in another way.
The fight shows he does care, not that he doesn't.
If Callahan got into a fight and got his ass kicked people word herald him for his sacrifice.
Dubi does it and he's an idiot because he didn't think about the other guy being on waivers? Players don't care about that **** when they're on the ice. Dubinsky is at fault because he doesn't carry a transactions tracker with him onto the ice?
They just needed NHL warm bodies in the event of injuries. Do they even have that in Hartford?
Honestly I can't answer you that without lying. we're in some deep doodoo, in that department anyway. But I feel like 1 or two guys could come up. Erixon maybe, if he's doing well. But we want him to develop nicely. I feel like we can hope next year CK wants to play for us instead and JT will come up more
