Even without Rielly, the Warriors are deeper than most teams in the WHL. This was a pretty weak year in that league, particularly in the Eastern Conference. There's a real dearth of potential NHL talent on most of those teams. Just look at the teams the Warriors steamrolled in the playoffs.
Yeah the West's got more NHL caliber talent for sure, with Portland leading the way. Moose Jaw is bigger, tougher, and doesn't have much skill up and down the lineup. They play a tough, gritty, grind it out, wear you down kind of game. I was just trying to highlight that Dylan is defending the house as he should. He'll fit in with the big team seamlessly.

Yup, got a chance to see the Regina and Medicine Hat series, your mod is right that the east is weak, Moose Jaw took care of both teams easily. McIlrath and Edmunson were out there eating away 40-50 mins of the game (different pairs), punishing the smaller forwards every chance they got. Pretty boring hockey overall given the lack of high end talent, but Reilly is coming back in a few days, and the Oil Kings have some forwards who can score.
Jesper Fasth was named the Sweden's World Championship team.

18-year-old Klefbom national team debuts
Published: Thursday 12 April at 14:49, News P4 Varmland Comment
Five Färjestad Players listed in the National Team for the World Cup in hockey.
The five are the two 18-year slopes Jonas Brodin and Oscar Klefbom, Jonas Frögren, Patrik Lundh and goalkeeper Christopher Nilstorp. During the camp waiting for two matches against Switzerland on 18 April and two days later.
Sweden squad for double landskamperna against Switzerland:
Yeah, its the preliminary roster, but its good non-the-less.
I think the WCH starts on the 3rd or 5th of May or something, so, depending on how Vancouver and Detroit does, Sweden could have everything from 6-7 to 10-12 NHLers added to that roster (while as many current names are removed), and the finals of the SEL are being played right now and I would guess that atleast 3-4 players from those teams will make the final roster as well -- so it will be very tough for him to make it all the way to the WCH, but not impossible.
The Whalers lost 6-3 in game 7. Miller had a primary assist.
On to the Whale I assume?

Not that it means anything, but Cally and Dubi were not much better their post draft years numerically and it wasn't their first year in major juniors for either.
Still think JT should have played for NCAA though. And if he does not properly develop into an effective NHLer I will insist on blaming it entirely on that.
Kid has a ton of work to do to improve his game and that should start tomorrow off the ice.
Just because he was a first round pick doesnt mean hes some sort of stud. Again, hes got a ton of work to do before he plays a pro game
Thanks for the lecture. I was talking about for the rest of the season a la McColgan, Ceresnak, and to a lesser extent (since they will be playing there next year anyway) Thomas and Yogan.

I think he should get the call if McColgan did.
However next season is really going to be interesting. I'd wager it depends on how he performs at camp. They truly need to assess if offensively Miller is ready for the AHL full-time.

Post-draft year their numbers were actually worse, and obviously for them draft position means nothing at this point, but Miller was on the 2nd best offense in the OHL. I'm sure the Rangers expected more production out of him. He cooled off horribly as the year progressed.
He is the type of player however I can see be a more effective pro like Kreider, their skills translate better.

This was his first year with this kind of schedule including Traverse City and his first pro camp. He'll be fine.
I don't think Miller had a bad year, but he didn't have an exceptional one either. I think part of the reason the Rangers advised him on going to the OHL was so he could hone his offensive game. He's already 6'1 and 200lbs, so strength isn't a major concern. His skating is above average as well. However, he was bouncing back and forth between wing and center in Plymouth, so that may have screwed with his game a bit.
I think he needs another year in the OHL before turning pro.

That was my first thought. This is his first go around playing 70 + games and all the other camps and tourny's. I am not making excuses, just pointing out that a little caution should be taken. If it happens again this coming year than it may be a bigger concern.
