While Slats appears confident that CK is going to join the NYR at the end of the season how does CBA for next year affect his decision ?
Why would a player give up his rights to maybe play a handful of games when if history repeats itself there will be no hockey next year anyway ? Wouldn't returning to BC for his senior year o eligibility ( grad student I guess )
, a guaranteed season and then UFA status in the next season if and when it happens if there is a lockout . Would any contract he signs say in April be subject to a Rollback ?
As an amateur is he allowed to be financially advised by any outside agent at all ?
Just curious if Gaudreau is a true Freshman? It is interesting that York is giving Gaudreau lots of minutes as a freshman. I thought York only favored juniors and seniors.
Kreider didn't receive top minutes until his junior year

He will sign, and if there's a lockout he will play in the AHL.
If CK joins the Rangers at the end of the season, then wouldn't that count as a year against his contract? Also, would he be eligible for the playoffs? I thought a player had to be on the roster by a specific date? (i.e. Avery wouldn't be eligible) I know there is a claus for an injury replacement, but is there also one for a player coming from college/juniors?

There's a Kreider thread on one of the first three pages of the forum. This was covered pretty in depth there. Long story short, yeah, it would count as a year on his ELC.

Who is this again? I know pretty much all the prospects but not this one for some reason LOL
Andrej Sustr. Hulking 6'8" defenseman playing collegiate hockey for Nebraska-Omaha. He was invited to our prospect development camp. He's not actually one of our prospects--he's a free agent that any team can sign.
