the main thing wrong with this team is well the type of players. we NEED to get bigger, stronger and more physical. 3 of our top 6 HAVE to play like that and 4 of our bottom 6 should. combined, we have 3 physical forwards (clowe, mcginn, winchester)

as crazy as this sounds, move pavelski and havlat for physical players. id love a kyle okposo or chris stewart along with a kulemin.

the bottom 6 well get rid of mitchell, handzus, ferriero and wingels. aquire colby armstrong, galliardi.

run with
marleau-thornton-stewart
clowe-couture-kulemin
mcginn-moore-galliardi
winchester-desjardins-armstrong

that doesnt include the extra prospects/picks wed recieve in the player deals. much better team imo.

no idea if this works capwise

Honestly, this team is getting ridiculous. We have TWO people score their first goals of the season on us, in one game, in FEBRUARY.

And a hat trick. Maybe two. I know we've given up two hat tricks this season with definitely one in February. I thought Shea Weber would make it three.

Nope.

How 'bout White and a 2nd for Zanon and Coyle?

Havlat has zero trade value right now. And who in their right mind is gonna take him anyway?

Eh. I'm willing to trade any of those guys. They're old enough that they won't be part of the "new Sharks" team.

I've always had this feeling that this team, while having a lot of forward depth, always was built wrong. You guys had like 8 or 9 top six forwards but not four top-four defenders. And the goaltending situation was bad as well. And I wouldn't be thrilled with Joe Thornton as my top forward/center either.

I dunno...maybe blow it up. Maybe Lombardi is available again for you guys to hire, so that he can restock the cupboards and build the team for you back to front and down the middle.

There is so much wrong with this post, but none as bad as the bolded.

Thornton: 58 points in 61 games, going up against opponents' top lines.
Kopitar: 51 points in 62 games, going up against opponents' top lines.

This woe-is-us nonsense belongs on the Sharks' board. You don't "blow up" a 2-time conference finalist because of a bad slump.

If Colin White was the lone problem, that would be easy to fix. This team too often recently plays like beasts in the offensive zone, and like bozos in their own end. Not going to win consistently like that.

Get some bodies back in the lineup, DW makes a decent deadline move, Niemi pulls his head out of his posterior, and we can forget about this horrific road trip.

OK... I don't wanna start but...
1. We don't have a lot of forward depth.
2. We have exactly 6 top 6 forwards. Marleau, JT, Pavelski, Couture, Clowe, Havlat. One is injured and the other is having a **** year. (Guess who's who. Hint: Not Couture) The ones plugging up top6 holes are Ferriero/Wingels. Not comforting.
3. Defense when it comes to our top4 is: Vlasic, Boyle, Burns, Murray (Supposedly). Injuries forced a pylon (White) to play in the top4. I'd say it is pretty good.
4. We don't have a goal tending issue. Niemi is average and Greiss is a more than capable back up.
5. Idk about you, but most teams would kill to have Thornton as their 1C.

Brown might be one of the few players in the league that dives more than Joe.

I'd consider it just for Clowe, but no way for both of them.

Take out McGinn, and change Armstrong to Kadri and you've got a deal.

Terrible.

Sharks fans need to relax. We're missing two key players in Murray and Havlat, as well as a useful depth forward in Moore. Couple that with poor goaltending and that explains why this road trip has been so awful. The Sharks will be just fine, no need to "blow it up".

No. If we trade Demers for someone good, I hope he turns into another Wyshart. When we traded for Boyle we had to include Wishart and some people thought we gave up a lot since we already included Carle. Wishart has turned into a complete bust. Maybe you're the one who's drunk.
