Bold are the games I think we should win. We should pull at least another win from Vancouver and San Jose, don't know if we will though. We should win against Edmonton, Calgary, Minnesota and Winnipeg. I bolded 11 of the 19 games. Thats how many we should have to win at the least to make the playoffs. I think 13 wins would guarentee us a spot, and 10 wins is the absolute least we'll need.
We've won all the games I bolded and gained a point in the one I didn't. (EDM, CGY, VAN and point from PIT)
If we win the rest of the games I bolded, we should definitely make the playoffs.
yeah if I had to pick a team as the Dallas of the east it would be Winnipeg. They're short on talent, but they've been getting results this year by playing a 200 foot skating game and dominating on home ice. That combined with the short rest and travel makes it a tough 2 points to grab.
Dallas is still obviously going to have to take their share of the points from the "tough" games that prophet doesn't have highlighted, because it's a lock that they don't get every point from the games he has highlighted.
Stars go up 4 points on the Sharks, with the tiebreaker, with SJ having 2 games in hand.
Stars go up 3 points on the Coyotes, with the tiebreaker, even on games.
Stars go up 5 points on the Kings, with the tiebreaker, with LA having 1 game in hand.
Stars go up 5 points on the Avalanche, with the tiebreaker, with the Stars having 1 game in hand.
Also tied the Hawks on points but with the shootout win, Hawks now have the tiebreaker.

We had an epic collapse last year. Difference is this year the rest of the conference is collapsing too. Gives us a bit more breathing room. Still a lot of hockey with some tough matchups to go though.

yeah the problem with that website is a just a 3 game slide will see dallas drop 30-40% in their likelyhood to make the playoffs. Their position isn't as secure as you'd believe just by looking at the numbers.
So far as I'm concerned the next 2 games against Anaheim and Minnesota are must wins. There's still plenty of games left against the elite teams, Dallas needs to get their points where they are available.

I agree, this is no time to rest on our laurels; we have to keep earning points. No time to slide.
It is just fun to see every game go our way last night. More nights like that (with, of course Dallas winning) and we'll all be feeling good.
Hawks win puts them up two points on us with the Stars still holding a game in hand (keep updating them cause I think if we stay tied with them/pass them, we'll be in for sure).
Kings fall and Flames win so tied in games played with both of them, but still up 5 points plus have the tiebreaker on both.

aka, we have a 3 game lead for the final playoff spot..with 14 games left
I know we have played them 3 times already but when we go to Minnesota Tuesday I really hope we get that anger and pain we bottled from last april and open it all over the wilds face.
Well I don't know if it will be bottled anger or not, but if we don't beat Minnesota with everyone that is out on their side, something is seriously seriously wrong.
6 points clear of San Jose. 7 points clear of Los Angeles/Calgary. Tied with Chicago again.
San Jose is screwed. They play LA 3 more times, Phoenix 2 more times, and Dallas 2 more times. Those games are always so incredibly competitive. Oh, and they also get to play Detroit, Nashville, and Boston.

well I'm not so sure that we'll be coming out ahead of them in those 2 games, seeing as they are both in the HP Pavillion, but they just don't seem to be having any success against the rank and file of the rest of the league. Doug Wilson has to be sweating a bit right now, especially after he made moves to upgrade his team for the playoffs at the deadline.
