No Henrik or Daniel on the scoresheet once again.

Big and tough. Just as advertised.

We all know how tough Staubitz is.

Meh, at least the Nucks finally have someone who will stand in and throw em without any antics.

He's 21. He'll get better at the fisticuffs.

And Luongo is back with his soft goals and meltdowns. Looks like they are shaping up into the playoff form.

Meanwhile Toronto is suddenly closer to a lottery pick than the playoffs. Going to find themselves last in the east at this rate.

Man that Baertschi is going to be a great player. Watching him play against wild guy is so talented.

Thought the Malkin hit was bad, but not worth a suspension. Your thoughts?

btw the Penguins have won 9 straight without Crosby. Thanks a lot to Malkin who is just beasting. They are peaking at around the right time, potential favorites to come out of the East

I thought that too. And Crosby's return is drawing near. I suspect they are keeping him out to reduce chances of another injury before the playoffs start. He'll probably be back in the lineup for the last 5-10 games to regain chemistry.

lol @ Steve Simmons. If that's the case then it's no wonder that the Leafs are so bad.

It's painfully obvious that Lupul is just having a freak season where everything is going right for him. Like Jason Blake, I expect Lupul to go back to 20ish goals next year.

The scary thing for Leaf fans is despite Lupul and Kessel being top 10 in league scoring, and Phanuef having a bounce back year offensively, they will still miss the playoffs.

Yeah that team is in a world of hurt and the pipeline is looking less and less promising with Kadri fading.

Anyhow when the hell did the Flames bring Baertschi up? Are they really that desperate that they throw an 18 year old into the fire at this point to try and save their season?

Also it's nice to finally see the tune in this thread change on the Canucks(or at least that the few supporters have quietly gone away). I haven't heard much about how easily they will win the cup in a week and a bit now.

That team is a joke, yes they needed a guy like Kassian to become tougher but they also need to win now. Kassian won't be a beast in this league for at least another couple years. I don't think Phalsson is much of an upgrade over Hodgson at this point no matter how much Hughson is convinced that he's a great fit on that 3rd line.

Maybe the Canucks and Sharks should shake things up this offseason and trade Jumob Joe and Marleau for the sisters.

Losing like that to Montreal was pretty much the same as last years red flag of losing back to back games against the Oilers.

Must be emergency call-up, no?

Yeah I did some research. Gues he was re-called on Wednesday last week as an emergency call-up. Not really sure what the rules are surrounding an emergency recall.

He made his debut on Friday against the Jets.

So if he plays 8 more games with the Flames does that burn a year off his ELC?

In two games his stat line is:

2-1-0-1 even

Anyhow as much as I dislike the Flames, Baertschi is a great example of not having to finish last to draft good players. Hell, this years draft is a good example of that too, this draft class looks so brutal and I have very little interest in this draft.

I honestly don't know how this works anymore. Because we wanted Eberle that one time and we couldn't because the flu wasn't an acceptable reason. What is the reason for CGY not calling someone from Abottsford? Not like he was called Wednesday and played Wednesday.

I do believe it burns a year though.

Yeah I would think it does. He'll likely get sent back down unless he keeps playing well and forces them to keep him. Or does an emergency recall have to go back down once the other players are healthy?

Yeah that's why I confused about Emergency re-calls. Obviously they have guys under contract in Abbotsford that could be re-called and like you said it's not like he played the Wednesday he was recalled.

Tweet from Rishaug:

Sounds like hybrid icing has some traction this year. Gm's saying there appears to be significant interest based on group discussions.

From Dregger:

Paper work is being finalized, but NHLPA will agree to bypass waivers for Radulov IF he decides to return to the NHL.

Crazy
