because he is not playing well. possibly he is unhappy and that is contributing to his not playing well. he was supposed to make thing more stable in the net and that has failed.

you can make a case that they are keeping neuvirth and wont be keeping vokoun and neuvirth gives them at least as good a chance as any to win.

add...vokoun, hamrlik and neuvirth are all same nationality. hamrlik has been scratched the past two games and is on the block. vokoun benched the past two games. maybe they are both angry and unhappy and a bad influence in the room,

RT @kcarrera: Am told Vokoun has not been asked to waive his NMC. Unclear why he left practice at this point. #Caps

And how will Neuvirth react if both of his countryman leave after being singled out on a whole team of underachievers?

Vokoun was a work horse, so was Bryz. They come into situations with better teams, then the coaches want to re-invent the wheel splitting their time with other guys. Play the crap out of them, take your chances and let them do their thing. Vokoun signed a great contract, quit playing him like a backup

Wait why do people think Wash would trade Vokoun for another goalie? That makes zero sense.

No, we are talking about a player leaving practice early on trade deadline day.

He was quoting the famous Alan Iverson...

"it's just practice man.... PRACTICE! Not a game, PRACTICE!"

OK, thanks. I don't know what that is, but I retract my statement nonetheless!

Vokoun has had more than enough opportunity to be the #1. He's been inconsistent and fails to make the timely saves.

I don't doubt the management see Vokoun as a push at best. Not expensive, but not much help in goal either. Holtby/Neuvirth is a better tandem, IMO.
