I don't know what to make of this statement. You go on to highlight the importance of added "backbone" in NYR and Ottawa, and a lot of that was on the blueline, which is precisely where I was advocating to start adding toughness first.
love to find a guy who can play. moen and white are a start...in the mean staubitz will do. would also have liked to see the Hamilton guys get a chance, especially schultz...

For sarcasm to work, it has to have some basis in reality, just like humor. The best jokes are realistic. Same for sarcasm.

Massive fail.

So a "Tough" guy in the lineup isn't so bad after all

Staubitz has been a solid add. No more than a 4th liner but he's been pretty good.

While I ususaly don't take people's opinions seriously. I remember Marinaro saying that this was a dumb signing as no team who would wish to be contenders should sign such a player. I know he's been wrong before and he's wrong on this. I like this signing. We finally have a player willing to stick up for team mates other than White/Moen. Somebody who doesn't wait for invitations. I hope we resign him.
Though i do admit I would like a much dirtier and stronger enforcer if there are any. But Staubitz will do seeing as we haven't had somebody like him in a long LONG time.

I prefer Blunden. Not as much a fighter, but at least he can play hockey.

Staubitz is as good as Blunden, but that's not saying much.

Love the guy.

PG

Seriously, love the guy. He walks the walk, no hesitation, no BS. And he can actually win fights.

White and him in the line-up gives this team much needed balls.

I agree. He showed that he's got a good technique during his fight against Kassian the other night as he fights to win like Engelland not for show a la Orr.

I almost like the fact that he isn't some red neck and doesn't take dumb penalties.

So far I have to say I like Staubitz. Good pick-up, good addition. He can actually fight and so far seems to know when to. No goon tactics and no dumb penalties.

Considering how awful our "enforcers" have been, it's interesting to have someone on the team again who can fill that role effectively.

The last time we had someone like that was Darren Langdon.

I'm sure if he continues to play like he has the Habs will sign him in the off season. He's cheap.

Staubz has been a great pickup, willing to drop the gloves with anyone and is actually winning fights. The team seems to be willing to mix it up a lot more now when goalies are getting bumped. Sign him up and can't wait to see him against the Bruins next season.

Definitely.

Blunden is really not NHL calibre. Staubitz is certainly limited, but he seems to have a great understanding of his role and does it well. He's no super heavyweight, but with a little work he could develop into a Shawn Thornton type.

The young players on our roster have been playing a lot differently lately with a lot more confidence and they know they have back up now. It's great to finally see this happening to the Habs, finally a good move too bad it cam after 60 games

Staubs...Has been a great addition to the team as it has been highlited hasn't hurt us with bad penalties and has stood up for team mates at appropriate times! ...We should reward him with a 1 year deal. Were slowly getting tougher and a more difficult team to play against. Say we sign Moen in the off season we could have a line up with some good toughness Moen, Staubitz and White with Subban and Emelin smashing guys with bone crushing checks! ...I would like us to get a tough as nails D Man to complete the toughness movement!

He's been good for us and seems like a good teammate, definitely would like him back as a cheap 12th/13th forward. Much rather have a guy like him than having a 7th defenseman in the lineup.

Staubitz was a solid pick up, and was sorely needed. Emelin, Subban, Markov and Price are directly benefiting from having someone on the roster who at least tries to protect them. White's great, but I don't want him feeling he has to fight every second game. He's also just not that big. That a re-entry waiver pickup can have an impact on the team shows just how sorely we were lacking what he brings.
