Will share a nice story though. At a practice he stuck around for 10-15 minutes afterwards to sign autographs for almost everyone. Signed my kid's cast (broke his finger) and wished him well. Comes across as a very likeable guy and class act.
Well that's what the Montreal Canadiens are. All class act my friend. Off but mostly ON the ice. And he signs autographs? Great. This team is all about perception. And who cares if he loses. Point is, other teams are looking for fights and yet run after Subban and Emelin and neither can go. Staubitz will be there to absorb the other's team's frustration.

Exactly. If PG moves a few guys off the roster for picks, you still have to ice a lineup of some sort.

Staubitz is going to cost the Habs $63,000 for the rest of this season because they got him on re-entry. I seriously can't believe people are upset that the Habs picked the guy up. He is 1/2 price (Henry is not), has NHL experience as a fighter, is a UFA at the end of the year, and cost us nothing to pick up.

He adds some toughness to the line-up, so that guys like Mike Brown aren't pushing around Subban. It's a good pick-up for tanking for the rest of the year.

If we're gonna have no-shows on the bottom lines, at least put a guy that's gonna scrap, not take **** and try to get people going.

again Henry, every bit as good .

and Henry already PROTECTED Subban in AHL....so who's gonna be the first guy to go to bat for Subban?

This is just another proof of Mickey Mouse running the show, Sanford for 650,000 k to back up Price? no
spend 1.25 million.

Neeed a tough player to handle rough stuff? Henry sitting there season is over in Montreal .
You don't even call him up ,a guy who has played forward and has beat people up that gone after SUBBAN.
Henry is a great locker room guy, if he wore a "c" in Hamilton why is that ?

Sanford has been in the NHL all year and is doing fairly well on a bad team (2.58, .914).

Louis Leblanc better be on his way to Hamilton, where he absoutely belongs right now, once the team gets back home. That is the lone possible upside of this move.

I am sure RC is going to play this stiff 10+ minutes a game because he plays ''a hard game, plays the right way, he's willing to grind, he's willing to go the hard areas, he's willing to play our system''.

It's going to brutal to watch.

Great!

At this point, it doesn't really matter how competitive the Habs are from here on out...what matters is getting some of the younger players on the roster an expanded role (Eller, Palushaj, Emelin, Diaz, etc) and evaluating how they perform so you have a better idea of what you need heading into the offseason. It would prevent spending money signing depth guys to rich contracts like the Habs have been known to do.

When Tomas Fleischmann feels its safe to give a little pushback, you know you have a problem. But Habs fans love their beta male team members.

The Bulldogs are trying to make the playoffs which would be a great experience for the young guys. You don't take away their captain.

When Stephen Weiss can talk **** to your goalie and no one takes exception, you know there's a problem.

Then again, Letang tackled Subban and no one took exception, so it's no real surprise.

I ll take Brad Staubitz over Aaron Palushaj any day of the week.
Will play the same amount of minutes but Staubitz can hit and fight.
Good pick up.
