Wpg claims Clitsome off waivers. Still considering the multiple offers on Oduya.

We have to be moving a defenseman.

Looks like Oduya might be on his way out, either way I like Clitsome. Everytime I've seen him he's caught my eye. Not a game changing move, but a good hockey player.

Maybe just being prudent , he has a year left on his contract so if Oduya doesn't sign they have another defenseman going into training camp next year.

Gonna miss your hair and amazing ability to grow facial hair, Oduya.

Now we get to giggle at Clitsome's name all the time! I honestly don't know much about him, so I'll have to go read up.

Agree. I don't mind this player. We'll lose Oduya (likely), while adding Clitsome. He's small, and it doesn't help us get any tougher on defense, but Oduya isn't overly physical anyway so, pretty equal move in that department.

I'll be pulling for this player just based upon the kickass last name alone.

Clitsome seems like an alright move to me.

Dont want to see Oduya move, but a new forward can only help.

Perhaps Jones has given the Jets enough confidence to be the 6th.
The Jets have played well with him in the lineup.
Or do they use Clitsome right away?

So now Chevy picks up a D man that even the lowly Blue Jackets don't even wan't, were there no small, slow underachieving forwards?

He's only 5'11", but 208lbs. Not huge, but not overly small. Not sure what kind of game he plays.

HF's Burb about him.
Quote:
Talent Analysis
Clitsome is an excellent puck-moving defenseman. While he is known for his offensive prowess, Clitsome is also a very solid defensive player as well. He is very strong on his skates and has good speed. He is very effective one-on-one. Clitsome’s willingness to get physical along with his body strength makes him tough for the opposition to have to play against. One area that Clitsome improved in his sophomore season was shooting the puck more. He has no trouble getting pucks to the net and has an excellent slapshot. Clitsome is blessed with superb passing skills and can make nice tape-to-tape passes. He is also a fierce competitor who can play in virtually any type of situation.
and a 30 Second Advanced Stats analysis I posted in the other thread

"Advanced stats are OK with Clitsome (great name as well) only really 90 ish games in the NHL this year hes played against poor competition but a positive Relative Corsi +2.8 and actual Corsi of only -2.58 on that terrible team. Decent GA/60--1.98 but that's being inflated by a huge 936 on ice SV%. All and all very good looking numbers but against poor competition depending on how hes used could be a very valuable piece."

Except the fact that Oduya is a proven NHL'er who can move the puck, Clitsome will be a fine addition to the Ice Caps.

Clitsome is actually a pretty solid NHL guy. He's nothing special, but there are plenty of fans out there right now who think this was a nice pickup.

Check the Trade Talk waiver thread, lots of fans from other teams applauding this move.

[mod], Clitsome has already secured a spot on the Jackets. If Oduya is moved Clitsome will more than likely be slot into a bottom pairing role on the Jets.

I look at it as possibly allowing us to add a more useful piece by moving Oduya. Will be interesting to see what happens today. I like Oduya myself, and will miss his awesome stache if he does get moved.

So your saying a guy that is a bottom D man on the worst team in the league will be a better D man than Jones, Flood or even Oduya? His size worries me, we have enough lightweight D man on the Jets already, aside from Buff and Stuart no Jet D man scares anyone.

Again a little research before you post baseless unfactual comments hes really been decent this year on a plainly awful team.

Love this addition! Clitsome was one of the players I asked for in my Winnipeg Rick Nash deal thread earlier...Wouldn't mind seeing an Oduya deal combined with a draft pick for some kind of depth forward...we'll see! Nothing is HAPPENING!

#winnipegjets will have 24 players with the addition of Clitsome. Someone has to go I.R. or be traded.
